Why on earth would he want to consult a manual from a time before Israel was even a country?
Because the tactics of terrorists and guerillas haven't changed, only the sophistication of their weapons.

Electing Hamas was an expression that Fatah was corrupt and unable to get any concessions from Israel regarding the occupation and settlement building.

Is this the quote that you believe "glorifies" human shields? It seems like more a statement of fact to me. Guerilla armies and terrorist groups throughout history have always benefitted from the overreaction of the colonial power or occupation force to increase recruitment. Were the Israelis unaware of this before they read the Hamas manual? Perhaps Bibi should have asked the elders in Likud to borrow one of their old Irgun manuals.
You know you come on here every day with your Israel hate and that's your business, but to try and defend Hamas, an organization that is almost unversally vilified is pathetic.

1) The Palestinian elections in 2006 were for both Gaza and the West Bank, not just Gaza, and Hamas won the whole thing.
2) After Israel pulled out of Gaza, Israel still imposed an air and sea blockade on Gaza despite the fact that Hamas had observed a cease fire for 16 months prior to being elected.

Colonial power,
this liberal has the same stupid thought process as Obama and his father, Colonialist are to blame for everything in the world.
No wonder we have ignorant people being voted in to second terms, these guys have lost their grip on reality and are living in the land of Oz
Take it from someone who was a stupid, ignorant, liberal who loved democrats in the 70's, EDUCATE YOURSELF.

You sound like a neanderthal from a couple of centuries ago who actually believes colonialism is a good and humane thing.

Dude you are the IB Freeman of Hamas loving.

humane? for sure not
good? debateable. rome's colonies did a lot to develop the western world, which basically was the foundation to all the advances we have in modern society. that's a "safe" example, but there are other "success" stories (especially where colonies, after independence, kept the values of the colonizing culture)

Anyone who does not think Hamas uses its civilians as shields in a complete moron.

But trackfan, ghazi, and the like said that Israel just loves killing innocent women and children and it wasn't Hamas' fault at all.i don't know who to believe anymore.

quote:You are correct. In my haste I focused on the administrative arm of government rather than the elected. Hamas did not exercise administrative control, especially the police, over the West Bank following the 2006 election.

Sign me as one who thinks colonialism was a good thing. Certainly not always humane but on balance definitely a betterment for the world including the colonized population.
There is a strong corollary between the advancement of a society and how long they were colonized.
Africa as a continent is so messed up in a large part because the French and British left. The lives of sub suharan Africans would be better off today if they were still colonies.

The Israeli military said it has captured a Hamas manual on urban warfare — called “Introduction to the City War” — that extols the benefits of civilian deaths and openly admits that Israel tries to avoid them.
There is no way they could have faked that!

Yes because the tactics in the manual are so unlike Hamas!!

Call me when Hamas renounces their covenant that wants all Jews driven into the sea. Hell they can't even say the word Israel.
Abbas and his fellow ruling elites in the Arab world have been quiet because they hate Hamas also.

You and Ace Midnight are good posters but for the love of Judaism please stop posting the following.
"Hama-holes" or Hamasholes
To Ace:
Israel protects their citizens with rockets, Hamas protects their rockets with citizens
We get it.

I find it interesting that the assault rifle on the cover appears to be an M-16.
