Respectfully, I disagree. It was called "Bushido". You history much bruh?
I was unaware that Soldiers in the US Army, which Miyagi was, lived by this code.
Seen The Karate Kid much, bruh?

Yeah, Miyagi is not on trial here, I can't hate on him.
It's about LaRusso being a bitch.

I haven't seen the movie in years, but I'm pretty sure Myagi was a U.S. soldier during WW2. He even showed Daniel his uniform and medal of honor while he was drunk.

I won't say that I can agree with all of Daniel's antics, but again.... What was he supposed to do?
Johnny and the Cobra Kai weren't going to leave him alone. The harassment was going to continue.

You are correct that that is his "official" story, but I never bought it. And given the credibility issues with Miyagi, I would liked to have seen more evidence of this. Regardless, even if this is correct, the fact remains that he sold out his own country.
And if you sell out your own country, then the terrorists win.

Point taken, I can see where you are coming from.

He had the medal of honor in his posession.

You would have made a great Nazi foot soldier.

Dude showed Daniel is Medal of Honor from the US. What more do you want? Once again you can't hate on Miyagi.

I think the biggest douche in that movie was Freddy Fernandez.
Dude takes Daniel in and then bails on him when he gets his arse kicked. Then at the end he is back lifting Daniel up when he is victorious. What a prick.
And I've always been on the Johnny side of this debate.
Douche rating:
Freddy
Daniel
Johnny

By this logic, then you can't hate on the Sensei either. Dude was special forces.

So, we have:
Beach beating
fricking with him at soccer tryouts
Causing him to bust his arse on his bike
Hose down beating
Verbally fricking with him constantly (and also his mom)
Let's take those one at a time:
quote:
Beach beating
Beginning.
End.
So Daniel rolls up on John's woman and is trying to impress her (and everybody else on the beach) by kneeing the soccer ball over and over. John and his buddies come to the beach and John wants to talk to his ladyfriend, and Daniel sticks his nose into their business and gets his arse kicked.
quote:
Causing him to bust his arse on his bike
Bike scene.
After the beach, Daniel gets a little reminder not to frick with John's girl. And what does he do...well he:
quote:
fricking with him at soccer tryouts
Soccer scene.
So not only is he talking to John's woman...again...but then he's up there in front of the whole class trying to show off juggling and kneeing the soccer ball. Again. So Bob goes hard after the ball and trips Daniel, who then viciously attacks Bob and gets kicked off of the field by the coach...who is the authority figure, mind you, and from what he saw Daniel was out of line.
quote:
Hose down beating
So John is trying to toke up at the Halloween dance, and he's completely minding his own business and leaving Daniel alone. And what does Daniel do? He sprays him with a hose in front of the whole school. So of course he gets his arse kicked.
quote:
Verbally fricking with him constantly (and also his mom)
Lest you forget that Daniel is the one always running his mouth to everybody...always trying to show off by juggling his soccer ball in front of the class....and picking fights at the Halloween dance.
I'm quite sure that Daniel got his arse kicked daily in Jersey based on how arrogant and smart assy he was, not to mention his all around shitty attitude to all things Cali.
quote:
What was Daniel supposed to do? Just sit back, and be beaten/fricked with constantly?
The whole "leave well enough alone" line was a load of bullshite.
No way. Daniel brought almost all of those things upon himself. Had he just chilled out at the beach and let John and Ali work things out, nothing would've happened. But he couldn't do that..he had to involve himself with other peoples' business. And then he had to do it again.
And don't get me wrong, Ali was the cause of a lot of that shite too. Women be shoppin, and she certainly instigated lots of shite herself by her actions (and inactions). But all in all, Daniel was begging for that shite.

Look, here is what gives me concern about Miyagi: He was a janitor at a crappy apartment complex, so he could not have made much money. Yet, he owns a beautiful home and about 15 classic cars. There is no doubt that he was involved in something illegal. He also lied for Daniel Son and beat up kids. The dude is no saint.
Regardless, Daniel Son deserved everything he got. He shows up in a new town and immediately tries to steal the coolest guy in school’s girlfriend – who is obviously way out of his league. Then he picks a fight with the guy when he is just trying to talk to his girlfriend. Then he punches a kid at soccer tryouts for “slide tackling” him, which is a completely legal move. Dude was out of control. It’s always someone else’s fault with Daniel. Cobra Kai didn’t do anything to him. Daniel wouldn’t leave those guys alone. Had he just apologized and tried to be their friends, they probably would have let him in the group. . . even though he was an absolute turd.
Daniel was the most hated man in the world. He goes on vacation in Okinawa and ends up in a death match because he tries to steal yet another girlfriend that is out of his league.
Think about Karate Kid II from Sato’s perspective. Miyagi steals his girl and leaves the country and ends up a decorated war hero fighting for America. Talk about the ultimate traitor. Meanwhile, Sato becomes a successful businessman and writes off Miyagi as the piece of shite he is. Then Miyagi has the nerve to come back to town and acts like nothing happened. Not to mention, he brings some little punk who tries to carry on Miyagi’s legacy by stealing Sato’s son’s girlfriend. Despite all of this, we are supposed to root for Daniel Son? Get the f*ck out of here.

At some point after the truce for training, didn't Daniel also mouth off to Johnny since he knew he couldn't be touched?
