Did Obama call for a cease fire when Hamas was shelling Israel?

And did not Egypt in conjunction with the Arab League broker a peace agreement between Hamas and Israel that Hamas went on to break not once but twice in the form of shelling Israel?
So now Obama and Kerry want Israel to "restrain" themselves. Seems like a blatant double standard. That is, it's okay for Hamas to bomb Israel but once Israel returns the favor, oh no, can't have that.
Additionally, is this the modern way to get your Joo hate on? I mean, Nazism is so passe' but Nazism and Islam have/had the same goal, exterminate the Joos. So a nice PC way to get your Joo hate on is to cloak it in Palestinian PC sympathies, right?

Nobody seriously negotiates with Hamas to get Hamas to agree to peace. They negotiate with Hamas in conjunction with negotiating with Israel to get Israel to stop killing Hamas.

So you are indicating that anyone who sympathizes with the plight of the Pakestinians is masking some desire to exterminate the Jews? I swear the conservatives on this board act just like the liberals they decry when the issue comes to Israel. So much demagoguery.

Seems to me that you harbor as much hatred as those you ridicule. Hate is hate - it is most damaging to the possessor of it.

So you think he should have called a ceasefire, before allowing Israel a chance to retaliate? Brilliant.
That would be like a guy getting sucker punched, and before he gets a chance to throw a punch back, someone stepping in saying, 'ok you two stop fighting.'
You don't think Israel has a right to protect themselves?

What is the plight of the Palestinians?
Hint. it's the same as every Muslim nation.

Of course I do. Re-read my OP. I think you misunderstood it.

I understood it perfectly. Hamas shelled Israel, breaking up peace negotiations. U wanted, at that point, Obama to step in and call a cease fire. How do you call a cease fire when only one side is firing shots? Shouldn't you give the other side a chance to fire back?

Every Muslim nation didn't have the state of Israel created on top of them by international dictate. Or Jewish settlements displacing their homes. It kills some of you to even recognize that the Palestinians have any legitimate grievances. I'm no fan of Hezbollah or Hamas by any means, but they are strengthened by the status quo and by allowing Israel to act in whatever fashion they please since God supposedly gave them this land.

Okay, I see your point.
The reality of the situation is that the shelling from Hamas to Israel won't stop until Hamas is removed of all its rockets. Calling for a cease fire without the full extraction of the rockets is tantamount to calling for the shelling of Israel to continue.
At least removing the rockets will give Israel peace maybe for a couple of years. However in the long run, Hamas won't stop the shelling and terror until the Jews are eradicated. And if they reach their Utopian dream of no Jews on planet earth they will move on to Christians. Once Christians are eradicated and the new Utopia is formed they will move on to fighting each other, a la Iraq.

No, it doesn't. But many people recognize that the ultimate (and almost singular) goal of those "running" the Palestinian side is to kill Jews. Both short-term and long-term goal. I don't GAF about any "nation" which governs with these goals.

My only agenda is to live peacefully with each other.
The Palestinians probably do have legitimate gripe about losing their land when Israel was formed in '48 (admittedly I do not know much about the details of the formation of the Jewish state in terms of the deals brokered). But the time since those apparent injustices have passed.
Maybe instead of violent means the Palestinians can gain some type of retribution through international diplomatic means? But we know that won't happen because their ultimate goal is the eradication of the Jews. They've hated the Jews way before the state of Israel was formed in '48.

"John Kerry just flew to the Middle East to save Hamas, again". (Col. Ralph Peters/Fox News this morn).

He called for a stand down.

It appears their goal is to rid the world of the Jews, then the Christians, then the athiests.
"They came after the Jews. I didn't complain because I wasn't a Jew...."

I guess the Egyptians are a little suspect of American influence after that Muslim Brotherhood debacle.
