What's your best memory in the outdoors?

I know, for me, it's a very hard decision. I want to know the most rewarding memory you have in the outdoors.
For me, it's a close call. In all the years I've spent in the woods, my dad and I had never doubled. In 2013, I had ten days in the woods. On the last day, I heard a BOOM from the area my dad was in. Thirty seconds later my phone rang. He had a good 8 down, and screwed up on another when he got out of the stand. Not five minutes later, this scrawny, pathetic, barely legal six point came in following my drag rag. It wasn't 10 seconds after I shot that my phone rang again. To hear, and see, the joy that brought to my old man is a memory that I will never forget and can't wait to replicate with my son.

Love me some Cameron Parish. Have a camp down there in lower Cameron Parish and the wife is from there (Creole).

anything at Port Eads. Shooting bb guns at ducks in winter there. Parking the boat and spending the night during NOBGFC tournaments. Staying on a buddy's houseboat for a week and fishing and hunting every species imaginable.

Being with my son when he took his first 2 deer. I don't know who was happier. Definately one time when my allergies got to bothering my eyes seeing him put his hands on them.

I missed out on that epic moment as a dad. His paw paw got to witness that milestone.

I was hunting with my grandfather when I was 8 when I killed my first big buck. Fifteen years later, I took my grandfather hunting with me and he shot a 145" buck, his biggest buck of his entire life.
That hunt turned out to be his very last hunt; he passed away not too long after. I'll never forget it.

Making them as we go...this was yesterday.
He brought in all but one, we were doubled up, and set the hook on the big trout. Got to shark fish, scout for triple tail - we got one to jump, catch countless small trout, and basically just see him smile and tell fishing stories all morning.

On a boat with my younger daughter (at the time) on a flawless evening in Glacier Bay N.P. Three days traveling around Admiralty Island and Glacier Bay. Caught sockeye in some unnamed bay on Admiralty, grilled it on the shore watching the bears wander around taking in the good smells. Humpbacks breaching...it was like some kind of supernatural setup just for the two of us. No news, no phones. Don't think I can ever duplicate those three days. We saw bears fishing in Hood Bay, sat in the hot springs in Baranof Warm Springs Bay, both got seasick crossing Chatham Straight. She's grown now, married with a son and lives in La. but she's never forgotten that trip.

My best memories outdoors was just spending time out at my grand fathers camp on St Johns Island in Cameron. It was destroyed in Hurricane Rita but I will eventually try to rebuild it so I can share it with my kids.

countless hunting and fishing trips with my Dad. He died when I was 19. Now trying to relive those memories through my son.

Learning how to slip through the woods hunting squirrels on opening morning with my dad. It was like he floating right above the ground. I was in awe.
My first duck flying.

It was great. I think we was both floating around for several hours.
