One of Marvel Comics’ most iconic heroes is in for a major change.
The studio announced on “The View” on Tuesday that Thor, the hammer-wielding Norse God of Thunder, would now be a woman.
“It's a huge day in the Marvel Universe,” the show's moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, said. “Thor, the God of Thunder, he messed up, and he's no longer worthy to hold that damn hammer of his. For the first time in history, that hammer is being held by a woman. That's right. Thor is a woman!”
Few details are available at the moment, but Goldberg said that the new, female Thor modeled herself after the original one, as he saved her life. Now, she's the one holding Mjolnir, which makes her the legendary hero.

Wasn't Thor cursed to live as a woman before?
Or am I just getting my fetishes confused?

Thor was a toad once (and a horse). I think we'll manage.

Little bit of an overreaction for a comic book. Do you even read the comics?

Loki did time as a chick, so I guess it's an asgardian thing.

Whoopi Goldberg announcing that Thor is now a woman killed my soul. Literally. My soul is dead and i feel a dark emptiness inside.
frick Marvel for allowing WHoopi to make this announcement.

Not a big deal. Thor's power can transfer to whoever is worthy to hold Mjolnir.
In the DC/Marvel crossover, Wonder Woman picked it up.
Technically, it has been done before with Thor Girl. She wasn't using Mjolnir, but she has essentially all of Thor's strengths.

If I can remember my mythology correctly, Thorndid dress up as his sister or something like that a couple of times to trick a would be suitor.

When cosplay becomes reality.

I don't get why people freak out over stuff like this or why feminists get all excited.
Pretty much every comic book character has a female version that has been tried. Many don't last because they aren't popular.
Hulk - She-hulk
Batman - Batwoman
Superman - Supergirl
Spider-Man - Spiderwoman
Tony Stark - Natasha Stark (Iron Woman)
Wolverine - X-23
Capt. America - American Dream
Doctor Strange - Clea
I could keep going.

I guess next we'll have Wonder Woman be a man

Already been done. They had a Wonder Man (Dane of Elysium).
He existed for a story arc involving a universe where genders were reversed.
Hercules also took on the name Wonder Man when he replaced WW.
And no I didn't know that until I found it on Wiki.

They are trying to reach out to women. I bet you that the first female Thor comic sells insanely well thanks to this.
Smart move on their part. Get the feminists all excited. They'll waste money on stupid shite if it is feminist oriented.
