and didn't shoot my dog, so I guess you could say today has been a good day.
but really, someone with a 585 (NY) area code phone number called the cops and hung up and they traced the call back to my house in Texas (wtf?)

I had a cop knock on my door years ago.
He said my line called the police (911)
He gave me the number that called and IT WAS my old phone number growing up.
Strange, but hadn't had a landline since 2001.
This was like 2010.

My alarm went off, I didn't know about it, and a cop barged into my house a couple hours ago. My dog went apeshit.
He instantly recognized me and the situation diffused. But in retrospect it was a little intense. He's a good cop who took a report for me a few months ago.
This is in Atlanta, too, so maybe having a police force used to dealing with actual crime helped here.

"The Predator" is easily a top-5 rap album of all time.

Similar thing the other day I had my home phone ring and the caller ID was my phone number. It was card services. I can't imagine when this shite will stop. I am just glad they didn't call the cops. However if a cop were to break down my door, i didn't call them, and I shoot then who is liable?

Who do you think will be liable? Cop killer and benefit of the doubt are two phrases which have probably never been used in the same sentence before.

This! As soon as I heard Rachel's stupid recorded voice, I hung up.
But I did think about the horror movie someone mentioned above--"They're calling frominside the house!"

Well, if I were on your jury (assuming the next 2 cops through the door didn't shoot you), I'm pretty sure you would be found innocent.

Cop knocked on my door one morning and this is what went down
Cop: I'm looking for XXXX
Me: Never heard of him
Cop: You got some ID
Me: What color is XXXX
Cop: Black guy
ME: Speechless white guy stare followed by a
closing door

Like 6 months ago a cop knocked on my door around 11 at night. Said they received a number of 911 calls from my place.
I had Verizon for Internet which meant I had to have a phone line. I never connected a phone to the line but apparently it had been calling over and over again. I had to notify Verizon so I didn't start getting charges for calling 911.
Kinda felt bad for the cop, it was storming outside.
