My question is, why didn't these few students choose to attend this university not knowing it's past?

Will the Alpha chapter of Kappa Alpha fly the flags on behalf of its spiritual founder?

Give the little sore asses whatever they want.

I wouldn't remove it not because of southern pride but because of the historical aspect and the Tomb's significance. In that regard, this is a dumb move IMO. You're taking history away.

As a Republican, I find the confederate flag to be a disgrace.

So what other parts of history should be revised to placate certain groups?

Lee would have approved. He urged former confederates to become loyal United States citizens once again.

Who said you had to be a republican to love the confederate flag?

If they were that mad, why wouldn't they want the American flag removed? After all, the North had slavery as well.

I hate what this country is becoming with regards to political correctness.

I'm no fan of it
But, on Lee's tomb? Really?
Also, I find THIS on T-shirts to be pathetic:
But, I don't insist people can't wear them

These Democrats loved the Confederate Flag:

So. Either remove it or place it in the proper context of its treasonous past.
The secesh were the greatest existential threat to this nation in our short history. That flag was one of only two enemy flags advanced against our Colors on American soil.
