I was planning on finding someone(s) who needed a roommate, since I won't know anyone, and it will help out immensely on rent/utilities as I get going.

Why would you move somewhere that you don't know anyone?

Is 60K enough living in Vancouver, WA? Yes but you still pay oregon state income tax and the traffic is TERRIBLE!

Why not?
There are people everywhere and you can always go elsewhere.

You only pay if you work in Portland and live in Vancouver. He's working AND living in Vancouver. They are just separated by a river though and everyone knows about Portland.

No, the education requirements were a bachelor's, but that usually means Master's in my experience. Still, I got the offer, so I do consider myself lucky.

I would rather live in Portland, but that's just me.
Figure out what's important to you, then base your decision off of that.

The money is pretty much a wash. $10k/yr is like $5k after taxes, savings, sales tax, etc. And $5k is not a lifestyle change.
So, you're not making this decision based on money.
You are making this decision on lifestyle.
Are you a hipster?
Do you have a tight-knit family or group of friends? ... Are you out-going? Not out-going?
How often are you going to fly home to see your family? That costs $$$.
Do you want a change in scenery?
If you're tired of being stuck in Florida, that will never change.
If you decide to move now, you'll be more likely to be open to move in the future.
If you stay, you'll settle down and it'll be unlikely that you'll want to move.
Just my thoughts. Good luck with life.

Go.
I passed up an opportunity back in the late 90s (when I was your age) for an awesome job because I over thought it. Don't make that mistake.
That was a job on suburban Chicago that would have launched my career in a totally different direction. I'm very happy now, but every once in a while I ask myself "what if?"

There aren't people I like everywhere
Posted on 7/3/14 at 4:03 pm to yellowfin
How do you know that if you never go everywhere?

There could be people you would like, if you knew them. I had a lot of fun immersing myself in A new city post-Iowa. Talk about dynamic shifts, trannies, South Americans, topless beaches, cocaine all over.
I've always been a big fan of changing scenery though. There's a lot of cool shite all over this country.
Did you to to Illinois? Family down south or what's your deal? I'm noob tard here.
