The United States Millitary needs to be deployed to the border to secure it right now instead of fricking around in some shithole called the Mideast.

The Constitution begs to differ except when certain specific conditions exist only would it deemed acceptable and lawful for the Fed to come on sovereign State soil. I know it's hard to say without laughing at all Federal abuses we see everyday. But it is true.

Mexican Chopper Fires on US Agents I'm not really taking a side here. But you seem happy that a Marine is in mexican jail. You obviously have some sort of disdain for Marines.
I am never happy to see anyone imprisoned lawfully or not, but it seemed to me the Marine part was played up, when I read originally I thought a Marine on duty of sort was detained on Mesican soil. Yes he's a Marine, but was really in capacity of a citizen crossing over mistakenly. The playing up of military service had nothing to do with incident.
In light of the border abuses that occur daily and encouraged by Mexico this should of been handled and he returned post haste, it's not like he is the attorney general supplying weapons to cartels that were used to kill locals. Someone who they should really have a beef with.

While I am not a constitutional scholar like our President I do not remember reading that in any article or ammendment. I am sure you are correct but can you tell me where it is contained?

Let me look it up or ask one, I do know the subject was broached post Katrina, and the lack of action by the White house and calls for Federal Troops., which had to do with Federal and States rights and privilege. Hold that thought. I will find out exactly as it is stated and if wrong will admit it as well.

If I am not mistaken that would be article four.

Under the Constitution, states retain the primary responsibility and authority to
provide for civil order and the protection of their citizens’ lives and property. However,
the Constitution provides that the federal government is responsible for protecting the
states against invasion and insurrection, and, if the state legislature (or the governor, if the
legislature cannot be convened) requests it, protection against “domestic Violence,” art.
IV, § 4. States may not keep their own standing armies, art. I, § 10, cl.3, but they retain
the authority to call forth their militias to suppress insurrections or quell civil
disturbances, subject to any restraints imposed by the Constitution or by Congress, in the
exercise of its constitutional powers. Congress has complete authority over federal lands,
military installations, and similar areas, art. I, §

Found it kinda, it is a federal law not exactly part of the constitution but close enough. However the national guard can be mobilized and sent to the border with no legal obstructions.
Posse Comitatus Act Sec. 15. From and after the passage of this act it shall not be lawful to employ any part of the Army of the United States, as a posse comitatus, or otherwise, for the purpose of executing the laws, except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress ; and no money appropriated by this act shall be used to pay any of the expenses incurred in the employment of any troops in violation of this section and any person willfully violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding two years or by both such fine and imprisonment

Have not read the whole thread, but this seems like the perfect time for Obama to politely tell Mexico that our Marine better be on US soil within two hours...

The Act, as modified in 1981, refers to the Armed Forces of the United States. It does not apply to the National Guard under state authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state's governor.
No legal obstruction yet..

10,000 illegals for one Marine
Posted on 6/27/14 at 9:09 pm to cave canem
Throwing firearms out the window to be picked up by anyone or causing a major traffic hazard is the more responsible behaviour to you rather than approaching the border agents, explaining your predicament and asking for help? Wow.
