Really man. He was born in Mexico, he lives in Mexico, he holds a Mexican passport. He's Mexican. And he is very very rich.

You're right. He's Mexican and has money flowing from every orifice.

The Mexican government needs to find a way to free the Marine they've been holding for three months for doing little more than trying to turn around and head home.

They also need to come pick up their kids because Americans are losing patience with them.

He told them at the crossing that all he wanted to do was to head home and was up front with them about the guns.

His mother said ...

I have no idea what he said or did nor do you.

I do know he was transporting firearms in an illegal manner for the state he was in. Left these firearms in an unattended vehicle for a length of time which while not illegal is not a good idea. He then entered a country where he was a frequent visitor and knew the guns were illegal and was arrested. He also lied to the Mexican authorities about entering the country previously. The fact is if he would have been caught in CA he most likely would have been locked up as well. The man committed a crime and was arrested. Why would he deserve preferential treatment for being a marine reservist? By the way if I tried to enter the US with contraband I would be cuffed and stuffed whether I told them I had it or not.

You realize that once you're in that line you can't turn around right? If he gets on the highway going south when he meant to go north there is nothing he can do.

Yep. I think the majority are Central American, in particular Honduras.

Does it really matter? Send them home. We shouldn't be the ones taking care of them.

Throwing the guns out the window in the middle of the street would be preferable to spending months in a Mexican jail. Stopping in traffic and getting the US border patrol on the scene before crossing would have been a good idea. Do you think we let Mexicans with contraband crossing into the US just turn around and go home?

I'm not really taking a side here. But you seem happy that a Marine is in mexican jail. You obviously have some sort of disdain for Marines.

On this we agree, grab an aero mexico flight into the US and stuff the kids on it to return. Even if they are not mexican they let them travel through so they can keep them.

Not only that, but he doesn't even have the facts of the story straight. It's almost Rex-level.

Does Mexico have an open border with Belize and Guatemala? If not, I question how they made it into Mexico and all the way to the U.S. border. To me, it sounds like a corrupt Mexican smuggling operation of sorts.

Maybe it's payback for some "Fast and Furious" stupidity.

Not happy about it at all I just do not think it is a priority. We should be hammering Mexico's arse about the border situation not over whether some dumbass got arrested and is in jail. The fact that he is a Marine reservist makes no difference one way or another.

This is the second time you have posted that. Again what facts are not straight?

Allegedly, Mexican customs agents were going to let him cross back over but when they called to report the incident and followed usual protocol for doing so, government soldiers showed up and arrested Tahmooressi. If he is not being totally honest, he could be in deep doo-doo. Unless Mexican authorities know something other than what Tahmooressi's claiming, IMO, they have other agenda and the Marine is being used as a political example.

I guess we'll know more after his hearing on the 9th.

cave,

They will keep throwing in your face everyday and all day that Marines and anyone else in the armed forces is somehow more patriotic and more noble than your 'average' citizen. Especially FOX viewers.
