Sounds like a mistake. But why are Mexican choppers flying into US airspace to begin with? Are our aircraft allowed to fire on suspected drug smugglers on the Mexican side? It's time to put the military on the border. Turn everyone back.

Well let's be honest all their covert ops people who are any good are already in the US, cause they found a way to sneak across and not get caught.

Plus this is an acknowledgement by Mexico - Oh, darn, we tried to keep the drug thugs out but couldn't - your problem now.

Obama has apologized for our border being too far south.

The responsibility of the Commander in Chief is to keep our borders safe. Whether it is a "mistake" or not, even if they apologized, this is BS. He should have already had military on those borders turning back or shooting people that cross over. Anyone that thinks this is not complete incompetence on his part is an absolute idiot.

I don't get all the fake outrage about this Marine, he was off duty and did something illegal and is being punished for it. Why should our government get involved over someone breaking a well known law in another country? And why does being a marine who got drunk and did something stupid make him more valuable than a plumber?

Yeah, because nothing keeps us safer than setting up a kill zone along the border.

We don't have to kill them, just turn them all back. We can't handle millions of refugees in this country.

It was an honest mistake, that's why. You think a Marine or anyone else for that matter would intentionally try to cross the border into Mexico with three guns? No criminal intent at all.

We trade prisoners out of Gitmo for an alleged deserter. Why can't this Marine get a little consideration from our Govt. for making a wrong turn?

What should we do, talk to them? Obviously what we are doing is not working. I'm sure you have a solution?

You have no idea if it was an honest mistake or not. I do know there are very large signs at every border crossing that says firearms can not be transported to Mexico

Yes, I think marines are capable of committing crimes and have many times before

Are you seriously equating being jailed by the Mexican government to being held by Al Qaeda?

He would be in jail if he entered several US states and multiple US cities with his weapons, why should he get a free pass to do this in a foreign country.

This marine is either one of the stupidest humans alive or a complete liar, I am not sure which but it is one or the other. It is impossible to "accidently" cross an international border in a vehicle. It is also beyond fricking stupid to be transporting these weapons much less "forget" they are in your parked vehicle. Looking at the facts he was more likely going to Mexico to sell the guns than guilty of making a honest mistake.
