It was an honest mistake, that's why. You think a Marine or anyone else for that matter would intentionally try to cross the border into Mexico with three guns? No criminal intent at all.

We trade prisoners out of Gitmo for an alleged deserter. Why can't this Marine get a little consideration from our Govt. for making a wrong turn?

He has admitted to breaking A LOT of firearm laws in California, I wonder if he will be charged when he gets back.

It is impossible to "accidently" cross an international border in a vehicle. It is also beyond fricking stupid to be transporting these weapons much less "forget" they are in your parked vehicle. Looking at the facts he was more likely going to Mexico to sell the guns than guilty of making a honest mistake.

Have you ever lived in South Texas or even driven through the small towns next to the border. It's not only possible, I've done it, myself. Stop talking about shite you know nothing about.

You have no idea if it was an honest mistake or not. I do know there are very large signs at every border crossing that says firearms can not be transported to Mexico

He returned to his car and was leaving a parking lot, was forced to turn right out of it. Had one chance to turn around, unmarked, didn't turn around. Called the police when he realized he couldn't turn around. ends up in jail.

You are ignorant.

That has been called into doubt.

There are dumbasses in this world.

First he's just a guy that happens to be a marine who was not acting in his capacity as a marine at the time. Secondly, his situation isn't analogous to the Bergdahl situation, they're not related. Thirdly, the US gov is speaking with the Mexican gov about this situation.

Did I do that right?

ETA: Mexico plays ball with the elite, so nothing will happen.
Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, North Korea doesn't/didn't.

See the difference?

Let's use this analogy:

Some thug comes into your home, sets up residence, tells you to feed, clothe, take care of his medical expenses, etc. He lays on your couch all day watching t.v. while you are at work paying for his needs. And on top of that, one of his thug friends comes in, shoots at one of your kids, misses, and they both apologize saying it was a mistake. Your response is to do nothing but keep taking care of the implanted thug and his friends.

How we don't view America as our home is beyond comprehension. We let these bastards in, they commit crimes, we pay for their every need, and somehow it's not humanitarian if we send them back? The problem is that those of you "compassionate" towards this invasion have not had a family member raped, killed, or beaten by one of these illegals. That would change your mind...quickly!

The San Ysidro border crossing is one of the largest and busiest crossings in the world, with wait times that run into hours, not some south Texas dusty side street. If you had ever been there or even bothered to look at a picture you would realize how stupid his claim and your defense of him actually is. You may be too dense to find it so here is a link with pictures.

If you believe he crossed this LINK without knowing it more power to you, however for the rest of humanities sake please do not reproduce.

The people making the point that the Marine should be in jail for breaking Mexican law are dead wrong.

Why should Mexican law be so sacred when they break ours every single minute? They have a military helicopter cross the border and fire on our people and get away with an apology? They look the other way while their own citizens violate our law constantly and look the other way while their country is used as a gate for illegals from other countries.

The next Mexican soldier or policemen or whatever that crosses our border and fires on Americans should be shot down like a dog. The next Mexican aircraft that crosses the border and fires on Americans should be blown out of the sky. And no one crosses that border period until that Marine is released.
