Theaters are places where thugs hang out anyways. Expect more violence, I guess.

We've checked out the various theaters in the area that serve alcohol. Ipic is the nicest.

We've been to one though that you basically sat at a long small bar type table thing and your chairs were office chairs

In fact...it was quieter because these theaters don't allow patrons under 18 in the ones that serve alcohol. So no crying babies, no annoying teenager playing with her phone, no obnoxious people being loud in general.

What about people from North Baton Rouge?

Well there aren't really a lot of people from NBR in AZ CT.

But no, poor people can't afford the nicer theaters anyways.

Here come the moronic posts from people that have obviously never been to a theater like this.

I've been to several(where I live there are several theaters like this to choose from). Never seen people get wasted at the theater. Nor have I experienced it being louder.

Right, so you are in nice, upscale theaters, not a general theater packed to the brim with the masses. Personally, I don't give a shite if they sell alcohol or not, but I've been to Canal Place and comparing them selling alcohol to a regular theater doing it is apples to oranges.

But it's not gonna be a regular theater that sells alcohol. It's not like you can go up and get a beer with your whoppers when you go to the concession stand.

I take it you also use the $5 Groupon that gets you a ticket and a free drink?

Nah, just went to Studio Grill one night to check it out.

It wasn't horrible, but the office chairs cracked us up.

The law allows commercial film theaters to obtain a liquor permit as long as the alcohol sales are separated physically from other concessions.

It sounds like as long as you get local permission and separate the alcohol concessions from regular concessions then it's fine.

Oh come on. I watched Chef a few weeks ago with a beer in hand, at least for the first 20 minutes. This has been happening. Not news. Now, a theater where I could hit a seatside buzzer or something and get some service to get a refill, that would be legit. But I could see where the costs for that would get astronomical. They would charge like 11-12 bucks a beer because they wouldn't expect people to tip in a theater. You'd have to be mandated to keep a tab or something with autograt to keep it manageable.

Again...the costs of the drinks are no more expensive than if you go to a nicer bar or restaurant. Do you not tip when you go to a restaurant? And yes, in the ones where they serve you, they usually start a tab before the movie starts(they ask for a card) and give you your bill and card back towards the end of the movie.
