The Brewhouse movies theaters are nice as frick and you get what you pay for. The ones in the DC area are just amazing.

Hell in Germany drinking beer is part of the movie culture along with a 10 min intermission depending on how long the movie is.

Lol all these tards thinking booze in a movie theater will turn it all rowdy.

This actually might be a problem in BR and NOLA, but like you said before the restaurant theaters here are quieter.

Again...the costs of the drinks are no more expensive than if you go to a nicer bar or restaurant. Do you not tip when you go to a restaurant? And yes, in the ones where they serve you, they usually start a tab before the movie starts(they ask for a card) and give you your bill and card back towards the end of the movie.

I hear that and I don't categorically disagree. But thinking purely from a business sense, if you're offering seatside service as I postulated it would almost have to be more expensive. You have to figure in the expenses of wages of servers and such. If you don't allow for that and just have bars, well, that's in NOLA already. Surprised it isn't elsewhere.

You just have to use sense. If theaters that are serving alcohol w/o seat service are already charging bar prices, i.e., $4-8 per drink (my experience, your mileage may vary), they have to make up the difference somewhere. Either they can do it by raising the price of admission, the price of the drink, or putting an automatic gratuity on tickets. Or I suppose figuring the gratuity into the cost of the drink and thus paying the server.

Well all the different types of theaters that serve alcohol here(seatside or not) seem to be doing well.

Well there we go. I have no argument

But I do think it's a potential...maybe not flag, but a conundrum. Not all theaters will be able to do it, IMO. I think it will cater to certain regions/towns and clientele.

Your argument could be true, there could be some that offer it, and then others could capitalize on the more niche value driven department.

But shite, I'm just slightly tipsy, can't sleep, and spitballing.

All of the ones I have been too offer food as well(not just hot dogs like a regular theater, but). So they make money off of food sales as well. So your person that doesn't drink can still enjoy a meal while eating. A meal they may have gone to a restaurant to for instead, but spend that money instead at the theater.

Do they offer seatside service? That's the difference in my experience in North Carolina and NOLA. To me that's the hitch. It's all well and good if you have to buy that at the counters. They'll get their cut there. I'm just kinda fixating on the idea of getting shite delivered to you. Whether it's food or drink, you're generally expected to, you know, provide gratuity. That's how service industry operates.

Man. And I didn't even think. That's probably an entirely different tax code and such. You'd have to restructure where you could pay food runners/servers below minimum wage. At least I think so? To me it seems like there are a lot of hurdles in place for that to catch on. That being said, I support it. Seems awesome for the consumer if done correctly.
