hi buso12, was the exam with Choi FIN 701 open book? thanks
Posted on 3/25/19 at 10:05 am to FKINGA
Choi Fin 701 is not open book. It is Proctored and timed.
You can however make a formula sheet on an index card.
Test this week. We'll see how it turns out.

Thanks..
For those of you taking MADM 701 with Philips.. how is the course load?
I am taking with Dr. Williams and it is heavy for me. each week there is 1000 word assignment with all the rubrics and two discussion post.
Is it the same with Philips?

Hi baroqen,
I am experiencing the same thing, it's a very intensive course. I am thinking of dropping it and retake with Lin.
Based on comments, I recommend Gibbs. It apparently isn't difficult either, and you may actually learn something. You will literally learn nothing useful in Lin's class.

Any insight as to the number of questions and whether they are all multiple choice for Choi FIN 701 exams?
Posted on 3/26/19 at 9:35 am to tigerlsus
The exact same with Phillips. 2 chapters per week. 500 word discussion and reply. 1000 word assignment. Closed book quiz weekly

Also, my module 1 discussion has disappeared (as have everyone else's) and doesn't show up as a line item in grading. Hopefully to get the feedback by Wednesday/Thursday I've been reading about.

Does anyone know what is the maximum time frame that you have to finish the online MBA at LSUS? Thanks...

I cannot stress this enough--do not take ISDS 705 with anybody BUT Gibbs

I can say for a fact, that ISDS 705 with Gibbs is the easiest class in the program.

@signa7, how was your group project experience in Meeks course?

I took Meeks for MADM760 and MADM751. I had a great group experience each time. For each class we had group members across all time zones. The biggest challenge was finding a day and time each week to meet. For an hour or sometimes 2 each meeting. It is all in what you put into it. The first week is the most difficult, because your forming communications and meeting your team for the first time. For 760 I had a great group from start to finish without any major problems. We would meet every Thursday at 730 central. This worked for everyone across all time zones and we hit it off from the start. My group for 751 was different at the beginning. We had one member not communicate until the 7th day of class and missed our 1st group meeting as well as another member who was absent until the 5th day. We had difficulty committing to a specific day and time each week because one member worked evening shifts. We were able to work out a solution each week after the first week. We assigned a leader each week that was responsible for communicating with each member by Sunday and setting a day and time to meet no later than Thursday night each week. We communicated through text because it was the preferred method that people would see anytime of the day. Each group I was in had a slacker and we made sure we evaluated them as such in our group scores each week. Dr. Meeks can also tell the slackers by their personal work they turn in, so do not get caught up in what other group members are not doing just make sure you properly evaluate everyone and get the work done. Overall I liked the group and we stayed in contact after the class and some of us still talk.

I am trying to collect information on the below elective courses:
ACCT 650
ACCT 620 or 660
Has anyone taken these courses? If so, do you have any recommendations which professor to chose? Thanks all

I dropped MADM 701 from SP AP2, too much work load for me with 40-50 hrs per week demanding job plus another course plus family and friends. It consumed my entire week/weekend and I was not able to focus on second course.
I had taken 3 courses in SP AP1 to target my MBA degree in Summer AP1 but now I will have to wait till Summer AP2. :(

I jumped up blindly into MADM 701 before discovering this thread as my first class in the MBA program. I'm going to tough it out but I feel like I spent 20 hours last week on school work alone.

Time Limit
A student has eight years to complete the MBA degree starting when he/she begins graduate-level coursework. If the student does not meet the time limit requirement before graduate courses are completed, he/she must reenter under the catalog in effect at the time of re-entry or obtain approval from the Graduate Studies Committee, the Dean of the College of Business, Education, and Human Development, and Graduate Council to extend the time limit.
