I got my SIE invite earlier this week. I've already joined BGS and plan on joining SIE as well.

Is there really value in joining both? SIE is the value option at $60...

FYI I emailed her and told her we couldn’t see anything and she has corrected it! Both of my module 1 assignments are now showing.

First time I've seen this. I'm hoping this is a Moodle configuration error and things will become visible again.

My grades appeared in Moodle for MADM760 w/ McLaughlin. All components are visible with grading breakdown.

I really haven't evaluated the value. I'll sign up and let whichever one (or both) expire if they aren't providing value. I mostly want to sign up for resume / LinkedIn points.

I just received the SIE invite and I'm on the fence about whether or not to join. It might be something nice to put on my resume(?).

They don't expire, the fee gets you membership for life.

Looks like Dr. Williams has sent out Sigma Iota Epsilon invites for Fall AP2 graduates.

I also received a Beta Gamma Sigma invite from Dr. Darrat.

Anyone else on the fence about whether to join one of these at all and if so which one are you leaning toward?

Which Dr. Williams? Looks like Summer grads get to play the beg for an invite game again.

I'm not sure if it's worth joining or not, but this second class citizen thing after they made a big deal of announcing 6 graduation dates per year is getting old!

un with group projects: dealing with Meeks MADM 760 team members that just are not putting the effort into the work. I have a feeling I'll be rewriting half of everyone else's material before we actually meet up.

Meeks was a bad idea. My 4.0 is massively at risk because of this group project stuff.

My experience with group work in this program has been very poor. I just finished my 3 paragraph application paper for McLaughlin's MADM760, now onto the 20 question test and week 2 is down!

Wish I had known about the alternative, I would have switched classes. It's Friday, this thing is due tomorrow, two members of the group are MIA, and the work input I have gotten is "C" grade level at best, maybe even worse considering how demanding Meeks seems to be.

Plus I wish I had a 3 paragraph paper. I had to write three entire pages of material for the individual writing assignment for Meeks.

Meanwhile, there are a LOT of frustrated people on the discussion boards in ISDS 710. Looks like Darrat is finally going to try to help them with a Zoom session.

Despite the "no experience necessary" disclaimers in the DataCamp and textbook, if you don't have experience writing code and with statistics, you are in for a massively rough ride, spending a ton of time just trying to figure out what is going on. Most of these people should be considering dropping out of the course and Data Analytics specialization/concentration and picking something else.

Maybe I need to conduct a Zoom session. There's a business opportunity here. Too bad I'm dealing with MADM 760 group work.

All kidding aside, I wish you the best of luck getting through this. I have a 4.0 going into this last term as well, didn't want to jeopardize that and took no chances...

Just rub a little more salt in that wound, TD435. LOL. I'm also pretty happy that I chose McLaughlin. She could use a little more clarity in her rubric, but aside from that I'm pretty pleased with the workload balance... especially after all the unexpected comments about Meeks after dozens of pages raving about how good he is.

He may be good, but I've never liked group work. I'm still feeling a bit stressed overall however, due to ISDS 710. This past week has been super busy for me IRL, and although I did fine last week, I still lack confidence overall in such a dramatically new thing (for me).

Yes, ISDS 710 has been interesting. My biggest trepidation is that there are so few points available that it seems like one misstep could cost you big time. I’ve been doing the practice datacamp quizzes which does seem to help but it’s chewing up a decent amount of my brain space.

Our group is having the same struggle. one person dropped the class but said they would honor their word and do their slides.....Apparently I am naive.

I don't regret taking Meeks simply because I want to experience what all the fuss is about in terms of his teaching style. I do like his class layout.

I've been told he is a fair grader as long as you hit the objective of thinking critically.

I took Madm 751 with meeks and we had group work. If you have a great group, then you'll be okay.

Has anyone taken a class with Li Huang,or Mehdi Darban before?
