For those taking the FIN 701 test remember, show as much work as possible! Even if its just writing a formula and trying to plug in numbers, he will give you points. You guys got this! Good luck!

Anyone braved the FIN 720 test 3 yet? I have worked all the problems and read as much as I could without losing my mind. I saw one person did on the Moodle forum and dropped the class after taking the test. I hope this is not another round of bogus test he gives. The first 2 were tough and I call myself "knowledgeable" in the area of finance theory/topics.

Anyone else ready for MADM 701 to be over? 1000 words a week is a grind for me on top of those ridiculous tests.
ETA. I have a question concerning graduation. Does LSUS send an email concerning graduation? I know some of you mentioned paying a fee through myLSUS. Is there anything else? Thank you in advance!

GSMBA16, I took the FIN720 test and found it comparable to the other two. I've had A's on all three.

Good job zdt, I have made 2 A's and 1 B (89.99 in FIN 710 with HSIEH!!) in the FIN classes and this is my last one and I have struggled tremendously on the first 2 exams. I was very lost on all the exchange rates but when I what was covered in the last 2 test I have hope! Currently sitting at a 72

Yikes, I am just leaving Vegas from a work trip, I haven't even started the homework problems for the next FIN701 exam... It looks like it's going to be a long night :(

quote:The chapter 10 homework is a breeze. You'll blow through that. The first 2 questions for chapter 11 are also really easy. Questions 11-6 and 11-9 are the ones that took me a long time to work. They are multi-step and I spent a lot of time trying to wrap my brain around *why* I was doing what I was doing in each part. I feel pretty good about them now but I still feel the need to run through them again before taking the test.
I haven't even started the homework problems for the next FIN701 exam... It looks like it's going to be a long night :(
If you build an Excel model to help you with those 2 chapter 11 questions, the 3rd practice question should be a straight "plug and crank."

Just took the FIN 701 exam, it was 60/40 qualitative-quantitative. Hardest question I had dealt with a 3 year MACRS. But as a poster stated previously, it wasn't the entire problem but a portion.

Just received a phone call from my student coordinator to check in about registration cutoff. I told her it was my last class and I would be graduating. She sent this email afterward.
"I’m so excited to see that you are in the home stretch of your final class. If you do not plan on attending the graduation ceremony, I highly encourage you to find a way to celebrate.
I hope you are very proud of this major accomplishment. You have taken charge of your goals to complete this program and balanced your valuable time as well.
Now that you have completed the program, what feedback would you share that will potentially help our future students in having a successful learning experience? This will allow us to continuously improve and uphold the integrity of our online learning platform.
Thank you!

Warm regards, Student Coordinator"
I suggest you download the form as the October early graduation deadline is the 10/3/17.

You the real MVP
I hadn't gotten this email. I would've been pissed. I'll be emailing/faxing my graduation application on Monday. Does this mean that our program will submit our degree checkout paperwork, I know it states it, but I don't want to leave anything to chance.

I just took FIN701 also mine was 50-50 qualitative/quantitative. No complete problems for 11-6 and 11-9 as he stated but i had 5 separate questions covering each aspect from 3-5 year MACRS I did not get a single NPV,IRR,or MIRR which are so easy. Good Luck To all!

Just finished FIN myself. 6 qual / 4 quan. After further prep I was ready for the formulas. They had some tough ones in the 6. I was ready for this test too, but I had to go to the text a couple times. We'll see how he feels while grading.

Yes, I'm ready. One nice thing about the 7 week course format is that it does go by quickly. Two positive things I'll say regarding MADM 701 is that the assignments are the same from week to week with nothing extra as a final. Once you're into the routine it flows pretty easily. No finals week freakout necessary. I also find the subject matter interesting and both professionally and personally relevant. Perhaps not my favorite course so far, but not the worst I could imagine by any stretch.

I plan on keeping my student coordinator in the loop with regards to graduation paperwork. May email entire faculty and the Dean just to make sure. The phone call was weird "just checking in to let you know registration for the second term is opening" Me: "Uhhhh, I've got all my hours after this class, how about some graduation information?" I'm not sure I would have received anything if I didn't ask or even pick up the call.
