Wow, I am amazed this thread is still going strong. I did decide to get my MBA from LSUS. It took me exactly 12 months, as I doubled up for 4 of the 6 semesters. Below is my assessment for anyone who is interested.

1. I made it out of the program for under 12k in 1 year.
2. A friend of mine took the LSU online MBA at the same time as me. We shared experiences and from what we gathered, it is basically the same program. If he had to do it again, he would have saved the money (20k) and done the LSUS program.
3. The classes were tough as hell. Online is SO much more work than traditional classroom. My days usually consisted of me coming home from work, reading for a few hours, eating dinner, then writing for a few hours. EVERY DAY (including weekends).
4. I had expected some lesser level instructors, but the staff was comparable to any other university.
5. The mix of students was probably 50% Shreveport, 50% everywhere else. I found the Shreveport students were typically just finishing their undergraduates and were not really ready for this type of workload. Regarding the other students, there were a lot of managers and executives from large companies (mostly oil) that were taking the courses.
6. Upon graduation (July 2016), I received several job offers and wound up taking one that was a substantial upgrade to the position I had when I was doing the masters.

All in all, you really can't beat the price and the flexibility of the program. Unlike the Phoenix's of the world, this is not a diploma mill. I have recommended it to several friends who are currently in the program (including my wife, but she is getting a Masters of Education). If you are interested, sign up sooner than later. They have steadily increased the costs of the classes and I believe what was a 12k program for me will be closer to 20k in the next year or two.

saints5021, thanks for coming back to this thread and sharing your insights. I agree that LSUS is a bargain for what you get - a degree from a respected university system. When I tell people I'm earning my MBA from LSU Shreveport campus, all they hear is LSU. The high profile of the LSU system, due to the football, basketball, and baseball programs (currently in the College World Series!) gives a diploma from this system a major advantage.

I just went to sign-up for MADM 760 for this next term starting on July 3rd and it doesn't show up in results? I'm assuming this means it's now full. I had dropped it last week and then reconsidered and wanted to sign up again. If anyone has any insights on this it would be appreciated.

I'll be in 710 with you. A study group is definitely useful!

Hi All!

I'm a long time thread lurker. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for all the information you share here. It's been very helpful for me. I'm finally done with the BADM's and I'm taking Econ 705 next session.

I'm wondering why our final grade in MADM 752 for the Family Business Profile isn't posted yet? I've always had my final grades by Monday afternoon or sooner in earlier classes.

I still have not received my grade for MADM 701. The class and professor continue to disappoint to the end.

That is a fair point. She was a week and a half late to allow students to buy the text. It would be unreasonable to believe she would meet the institution timeline for submitting grades.

So do both quizzes ask the same questions? I'm a bit concerned about the Excel, as I find it difficult at times for some reason. Any suggestions?

Well I managed to finish MADM 752 with a 91.7 and MADM 701 with a 90! Glad to have my elective out of the way and a core class. Those who are looking for an elective 752 is not too bad, it's just the mindtap quizzes that are frustrating. Everything else in the class was pretty simple. But those writing assignments carry a lot of weight, so they can really help with the struggling of the mindtap quizzes. Just my opinion..

I was in these classes also. I start my last two classes of the program July 3rd. For anyone who is interested here is my total overview of the program. I went the general business route. My undergraduate was not in business, so i had to take both BADM prerequisites. I have followed this board for the past 12 months and appreciate all the insight as to what to expect. I doubled up on classes every time since I had to take the two BADM700 and 701 classes. I also work full time and had our second child this year. I will say finishing the program and working full time with a family is feasible, but you have to have a great support system. It has been a rough 12 months, but it is worth it!

BADM700- very simple. Great overview for non-business undergrads.

BADM701- Same as above. Good overview of what to expect from the program.

ACCT701- Great class to double up with. Ambrosio was great at explaining any concepts and was very involved with the class.

ECON705- One of the easier classes for me to pair. The excess work made up for any issues on the test.

FIN701- This was my only B in the program so far. I was not a finance major, so I feel my background is more of what my issue was. Vines is a great teacher, I struggled with testing being the only source of grades.

MADM701 - One of my least favorites. I finished with a 91, but it was a struggle. I will say anytime I contacted the coach or the professor, they were quick to respond and both very considerate. Utilizing Proctorio was not that bad.

MADM760 - Great class to pair something else with. Fairly simple, easy to follow. Dr. Meeks is a good professor and provides good feedback. It required weekly group video meetings. Being in different time zones made it difficult for everyone to be on the same page.

MKT701 - This was my first class in the course after my BADM700 and 701 classes. I do not recommend doubling up with this if you are under strict time constraints. It seems from what I have read, the class has changed drastically, but I cannot speak to if that is a good thing or not. I doubt it is...

MADM752- Overall straight forward class, aside from the MindTap quizzes. The grading on all other material made up for the terrible quizzes. Decent elective and not too time consuming.

MADM720- I wasn't a fan of this class. The grading seemed to vary drastically from one week to the next in regards to writing assignments.

I start my last two classes on Monday, ISDS705 and MADM710. As stated, doubling up every term and working full time is possible, but also difficult. Thanks again to everyone on this board who has given insight to the classes they have taken. It has helped me prepare over the last year!

The proctoring is not bad. I like proctoria because you can work it around unexpected things in your life such as work. ProctorU has to be scheduled. I don't like that. I just dont understand why notes can't be used while being proctored. Many accredited universities allow this. It is hard to retain chapters of information for one exam.
