Who were the three defenders in our box? Cameron, Omar, and Yedlin? I couldn't make it out clearly.

US and Germany draw 1-1, both advance.

We tie Germany 1-1, dgaf about the other game
Germany wins group with a draw, plays it conservatively. We tie it in the 2nd half. Both advance

I think we lose 2-1 to germany. I think Ghana wins 2-1 against portugal. I think we advance.

You and Keys disagree on this.

We lose 3-1 to Germany and Portugal wins by 1 over Ghana so USA still advances. Doesn't matter who we play from group H, we beat them.

Question: How did Ghana play Germany to a draw (i.e. athleticism, etc.) and does the US style of play suggest a draw or win vs Germany is likely?

In that scenario, we would each have five goals in the tournament, so it'd go to the third tiebreaker which is head to head and we'd advance.

That is true..here are the tiebreakers in order.
1. Goal difference in all group stage matches
2. Goals scored in all group stage matches
3. Points in matches between the tied teams
4. Goal difference in matches between the tied teams
5. Goals scored in matches between the tied teams
6. Draw lots

Yeah. If Ghana wins 2-1 and we lose 1-0 (which I can see happening. I think our game will be played much more conservatively than the Ghana match because both we and Germany advance with a draw, and Portugal and Ghana not only need to win, but may have to win big, so I think their match has a better chance of being higher scoring than ours) then Ghana would advance, unfortunately.

We need some sort of agreement with the Germans like they did back in 82. We play to draw and we both move on.

the fricked up part about that goal is that when i saw ronaldo set up for the rather early cross, i was quite confident that he had picked someone out. and indeed he did.

Hate when people say this. Ronaldo isn't worthy to wash Messi's jock strap.

2-1 Ghana and 1-0 Germany or 3-2 Ghana and 2-1 Germany are national nightmares.
