Democrat congressman to IRS commissioner: 'You deserve better'

Several Democratic congressmen struck a very apologetic tone at Friday’s House Ways and Means Committee after several Republican congressmen aggressively questioned IRS Commissioner John Koskinen about missing e-mails and Koskinen’s opening remarks noting that he felt no need to apologize to Congress.
California Congressman Xavier Becerra coddled Koskinen and apologetically told him that “you deserve better.”
Becerra gave the IRS commissioner tips about breathing and handling the GOP’s difficult questions.
“This hearing has been conducted as less of a hearing then it might have been as an inquisition. You deserve better. You certainly are obligated to give truthful answers, and we appreciate your trying to,” he told the IRS commissioner at Friday’s hearing. “If you find that you are being badgered or not given an opportunity to respond, take a breath and then try to get your answer out. If you are not given the opportunity, then recognize that again this is maybe not a hearing but an inquistion.”
Statists gonna state

I think it already has. Problem is the toilet is stopped up with no place for the shite to go so it just keeps swirling around when flushed.

God, I want to be a representative.... I would have opened my allotted time with "And to Rep Becerra, I'd just like to say that your constituents deserve better than you..."

I wonder if even the IRS commish laughs at how these congressmen actually believe the things they are saying.

What the hell does that even mean? He needs to be coddled and thanked for TRYING to be truthful at a congressional hearing, that's you know, part of his job?

Did any Republican ask Kiskinen to provide a list of the heads of the IRS IT department since 2008 by the end of the day? Ask for the IT org charts since 2008 by the end of the day? Ask for the IT disaster recovery procedures and data backup procedures since 2008 by the end of the day?
There needs to be a little less preaching from the pulpit. The Reps need to dig into this like a detective would in checking out a murder suspect's alibi.
I would call the pertinent IT employees before the committee and I would grill them with my own IT specialist leaning over my shoulder giving me the questions to ask?

The so-called party of the people predictably going to bat to coddle the political elites in the IRS. But they care so much!

I doubt if the first congressman believes anything he is saying or that they don't know that the emails can be retrieved.

I despise both parties, which is why I'm an Independent. I'm conservative all the day long, but screw Boehner, McCain, McConnell, etc.
Obama and the Dems are even worse, though. Some of them actually act like they have a chip on their shoulder against America.

Ummmm, isn't a Congressional hearing a type of inquisition by its very nature?
Congress is 'inquiring' about certain issues at the hearing.
