Are there any superior brands or attachments that I should opt for other than my normal string?

I've never put more than 3 seconds of thought into weedeater string before

Get the regular old feeding head with .095 string and be done with it. You don't need anything other than that

They all suck and I can never get the shite to go on the spool correctly.

Then you haven't tried echos new easy feed head. Best thing anyone ever made.

THIS!!!
I have kamakizeed two weed eaters across my yard for this very reason. It is always an adventure to weed eat my yard. I have called every weed eater I have ever owned every name in the book and even made up words for it. The neighbor once called the police on me for anget issues regarding my weed eating episodes.

The weed eater was invented by the devil. The neighbors send their kids inside when I get out the ole weed whacker.

Shindaiwa or oregon speed feed heads with redmax .095 cable twist is pretty good combo

Ive thought about getting the metal blades that you can use for heavy grass areas... wonder how that would work. They used to make some platic blades called "gators" or something.... FK all that spooling shite

I've never understood how the spool is so hard for people to figure out
As for that gator thing, wait until a piece goes flying off and cracks you in the leg. Anything other than a regular feeding head is just a gimmick.
Fwiw, I spent 2.5hrs nonstop weed eating 36" weeds on Wednesday and went through two gas tanks full of gas. You don't need anything special to weed eat high grass
Eta: The regular Echo head is like $45 and the speed feed one is like $38

I haven't seen much difference in brands of string...but I wouldn't use anything other than normal string due to safety concerns...

Imma have to look at that speedfeed setup.... All i have on it now is that unlocking head that you have to spool yourself. I throw it in the ditch atleast twice a weekend. Guessing its universal fitting or fits on stihl products

It's badass. You cut a length of string, stab it through both sides, get it centered, wind it up, and go back to work.
Y'all must have some serious yards for this to be an issue. This is commercial grade shite we're talking about

Yeah, I have a schendowa, I put one end through thr hole, feed it through the other and pull until the two sides are about 5 feet down from the head. Snip it, and push and twist until it's all In the head. I have never had it get twisted during operation where I had to stop and pull it out either

Does the line ever get wrapped under itself inside the head, and how hard is the head to take apart?
When I bought my last head, I was surprised that the easy feed one was cheaper than the regular one. I guess they are trying to push it into the market hard. I still bought the regular one because I know it works and rarely have problems with them
I do need an edger in the worst of ways though. That shite will eat some string
