doesnt he have a ferrari and like several 10,000 dollar go carts and a membership at that new track that costs a lot? ever follow him on twitter? he's always abroad and traveling going to fancy restaurants.
why would i give him money when he spends it like it's nothing? guy blows through money.
he's not a charity case for me and i dont really care if stanley makes it or not.

I don't give two shits about someone that screws over his employees. Give them a cash severence, the best notice you can of the future closing...something. Never ate at Stanley's, never will.

This fundraiser sounds like a good way to piss a lot of people off. Your business model failed. Move on.

That statement about why they closed was delusional.
It wasn't just the costs to dine there that limited their customer base. It was also the menu format (prix fixe no ala carte) and his strict no substitutions policy that exponentially contracted his market.
I would have loved to hear what he had planned to do to rectify his declining sales. I bet he had nothing.

Ate at Stanley's. Was not impressed at all. Struck me as a fast food version of fine dining for breakfast. They "swear by the potato/hash brown" stuff because you can easily fix it in advance and just keep it warm.
Bought some photography from a guy the wife and I fell in love with who maintains a studio on Royal Street for our home a little over a year ago. He happened to do all of the artwork for Stanley. Based on what we paid for four pieces, unless he got a huge hometown discount, this guy paid lavishly just to decorate the joint, and it never got what he was going after there.
But if Stanley is what's your "lifeline," then why the need for a fundraiser to save it? Sounds more like a fundraiser to make the last payroll and settle your A/P issues at Stella.

Lame. Not sure why he feels he is deserving of sympathy in this situation. Sucks that he had to close Stella but it sounds like he totally mishandled the situation.

Totally agree that whoever dreamed up the "fundraiser" idea to "save Stanley" is an idiot. Had he been honest to his employees, had the business sense to close/retool/scale back prior to reaching the need for Chapter 11, and been honest with his employees, the general public might have a shed of sympathy. But he's living high on the hog while the people he employs are now left with nothing....sorry, I'm not buying what he's selling.

The actions of a narcissist. Why should he suffer if you can suffer in his place.

Unless the money goes directly to the past employees NO ONE should go. I just hired one of his servers and he didn't even receive his last pay check. His name is listed as one of the creditors in his bankruptcy filing. This guy is unreal not even paying his employees their last check that worked so hard for it.

Sad. So he's saying hey my business didn't last so come give me money because I screwed up??????
Will show no support for Stanley or any of this.
I do want to know who, if anyone, goes to this fundraiser.

what does a server make per hour at Stella? realistically.
is it more the principal, or the actual money?

I've been to Stanley hundreds of times and I can only think of one dish I've ordered with American cheese. I've always enjoyed my food there as it is real convienent for me when I stay in the FQ. BUT after this bullshite I have no desire to spend any more money there. Turn that bitch into a Tshirt shop !

It's not just the hourly rate at Stella it's also the tip $$$. All of their credit card tips where put on their paycheck as well as their hourly rate. So he is basically stealing tips that guest left to him and not paying him real shitty.
