Anyone in the market for a soft side cooler should check out Polar Bear Coolers on Amazon. I bought one about a month ago and love it.

The quality is solid, heavy duty fabric on the outside and a ton of insulation inside. It doesn't seem like it will ever tear or rip. It comes with a bottle opener on the zipper, and it's a POS, but everything else is great.

Since I bought this, I don't think i've used my Roadie at all. Especially great for the yak. It's lightweight and easier to store than a hard ice chest.

I have the 12 pack size and it fits a 12 pack of bottles and about 6 pounds of ice. Fits a 12 pack of cans and an entire 8 pound bag of ice

I have one. It's sturdy but it leaks. Haven't gotten around to sending it back yet.

Does it leak at all? I've been using the cheap one from Sam's. Works well enough but they leak.

A buddy of mine has a Polar Bear, whereas I have used an AO 36 on my kayak for the past couple years... similar design, but I prefer my AO over his PB.

The AO has the heavy duty Vinyl exterior rather than the fabric- much easier to clean and doesn't stain. Ice retention is about the same.

I had a Polar Bear cooler and it started leaking after a couple of years. Switched to Fishpond brand and it is going on 6 years now with no problem.

the real question is: how tough is the interior>? Can it withstand several redfish and trout flopping around and not leak?

I use the $9 Cali Innovations bag from Sam's. After a couple of trips, it leaks, but it's cheap and easily replaceable. You just have to remember not to store it inside the car full of fish, as the fishwater stank then gets inside your vehicle. Have thought about the more expensive models, but why spend that much if they can't withstand the redfish test.

got one of those as a groomsman gift with my name on it. Have been using it for 5 years now. works great for holding enough beers for my walk from the hayfield lots to the tailgate during football season.
