My first visit to TS was for the LSU vs. Southeastern game in 1949. The stadium was still a horseshoe in those days.
God Bless You ! I think you should win some sort of prize.

That was the only game that I ever left early.
I stayed to the bitter end. Still not sure why.

1991 vs Florida. UF won 16 - 0 and I remember people being happy we played so well.

LSU vs. Auburn, Pat Sullivan's Heisman year. LSU 21, Auburn 20. I was a Boy Scout usher
Same game for my first. October 1969. First play from scrimmage, halfback pass from Buddy Gilbert to Andy Hamilton for a 62 yard touchdown. Then the icing on the cake was George Bevan blocking an extra point to preserve the 21-20 victory!

There's a lot of us (including me) who first experienced Death Valley on that sunny October 25, 1969 day.
I wish I could find the kid who was the State Trooper's son who my Dad and I picked up in LaPlace on the way up Airline Highway. I think his name was Joey Tamburella?
Things I remember: The SEZ painted in Auburn colors, the 1st play Halfback TD pass. I think Bill Thomason also blocked another Auburn kick during the game.
Hopper's and Bluebirds :)
BTW, it was Jimmy Gilbert who threw the halfback pass to Andy Hamilton (after taking a pitch from Buddy Lee).

Buddy(?) Gilbert??
You are correct, sir! It was Jimmy Gilbert, indeed. The other kick blocked was a field goal attempt if memory serves me correctly.

Idaho in 2012. What a shitty first game, followed up by Towson. Fortunately, SCar was next.

LSU vs Tulane at the old Sugar Bowl in November 1968. Tommy Allen (The Trigger from DeRidder) scored 3 TD's in his last regular season game at LSU. Tigers won 34-10 (I think).

I'm sure I've been to games before this one but the furthest back I can remember is LSU Mississippi State 1992.
A rare bright spot in a terrible Hallman reign.
