Thought it was really good. One of the better time travel movies I've seen. 8/10. Will watch again when it comes out on DVD
Really only two complaints I can think of right now. That is the ending and the trailers I feel gave away too much. The ending I thought was kinda cheesy, figured they would all die killing the omega and that would be that. But then they showed them alive again and I was like wtf. However after thinking it through they killed the alpha when they killed the omega. So the omega was still trying to 'redo' that day. It did that by using cruise's body. But when it reset the day it was dead and everybody else was still alive.
At least that's what I deducted from commen sense. Not sure if it's been explained yet

I liked it. It reminded me a lot of Source Code, which I loved. I just wanted more surprises. Solid movie, though.

So does cruise now have some of the omegas time control abilities after being wrapped in the omega juices at the end?
He could be unkillable now, unless he bleeds out or has a blood transfusion again. Of course it's never proven that cruise has lost his original 'day reset' ability. So the ending could just be him dying and resetting the day again with his original powers, but with the omega dead...

Such a good movie. I hope people go to see it. Would be a shame for this good of a movie to not perform well at box office.

I think a lot of these things we are not suppose to know the answers to. What kind of power he does or does not have is speculation. One thing I don't understand, when he dies after killing the Omega and wakes up, the war is over. If he went back before everything happened, why was the war over?

A lot better movie than Source Code which was good, this movie might go down as a classic all time for the genre, though it does take about 40 minutes to start peaking my interest.
I was hoping it would end with the black soldier putting his foot up Cruise's azz when he woke up one last time, with the crazy white girl hollering, tak dat bych.
8.8 out of 10

Sounds like some of you need to read All you need is kill.
It's the Japanese book this movie is based off.
It's ending is a little less happy and a lot different. There is a lot more explained about the mimics as well.
Still this movie was good, I really enjoyed it.
This didn't happen in the book, I think they did that to give a super happy ending and leave the potential for a sequel.
Toms character has a death match with her because the loops won't end til she is dead along with the server mimic in the book.
The mimics don't just turn off after the loop is ended either. Cage and the rest of the UDF have to keep fighting to get rid of the rest of the mimics.

That's what I wish happened in the movie. Kill the omega and now the UDF has to fight across Europe to meet the Russkies and Chinese. Potential for a sequel, surprises, etc.
Happy endings for movies are nice but they didn't have to be that cheery. Still, as I've posted earlier I really liked this movie.

No. Cage's temporal abilities (and the Alpha's) are tied to the Omega. Every reset occurs through the Omega. It's like getting pinched on your arm - your arm reflexively pulls away, but the action is ultimately dictated by your brain. Similarly, whenever an Alpha dies, the stimulus is noted by the Omega, and time is accordingly reset to compensate for the deficit. Cage is integrated into this system the first time he dies - thus, whenever he dies, the Omega incorrectly interprets his death as the death of an Alpha and resets time.
In the final scene, Cage injures the Omega such that it attempts to reset. Cage becomes affected and integrated into the system again, but the Omega dies before the reset is complete - this is why when Cage wakes up and lands in London two days prior, the Mimics are already dead. If the Omega didn't die prior to the completion of the final reset, then it would have been fully viable and nothing would have changed.
Since the Omega is now dead and all resets occur through the Omega, Cage is unable to reset again.

Pretty intriguing movie. I do wish the mimics were expanded on more instead of generic boogeymen.

Marketing for the film was awful. It's much better than source code.

I thought Source Code was better, but it's close.

Went to see it tonight and just got back. One thing that is being overlooked is that the omega is not the highest form of alien life. Theoretically these are a concurring species. My theory is that just as there is a reset in the alpha. There is a reset on the omega. No way of knowing that.

Just watched it last night and am upset with myself that I didn't see it first in theaters.
I really enjoyed it. Bravo Tom Cruise.

Great movie. A lot of fun, Liman knows action well, and the story was nice.
Did anyone else think that there's a possibility Cage was lying after he woke up from car accident???
They mentioned a specific amount of blood that Rita had transferred when she lost blood, like 4 pints, Cruise wasn't nearly that much, the black eyes, some of the scenes in the end. I don't know. Either he was just a bad arse again, or he had rehearsed it.

Why didn't anyone recognize him if he was in the media all the time?
Posted on 6/8/14 at 2:38 pm to Hu_Flung_Pu
The impression I got was that he was assigned to a group that was pretty rough. Not the sort who'd be watching CNN or anything where he'd be on.
