Let's say a standard bowl of gumbo is 16oz. How much rice do you like in yours?
Been debating this recently and I'm interested in the F&D board's opinion.
TIA

I like my level of juice to be just above my rice level if that makes sense.

I prefer potato salad.

I'm not sure on an exact measurement but I like it to be soupy, rather than a "wet" rice and gravy texture. If that makes sense.

112 grains of rice per 10 grams of gumbo. And yes, you must count the grains by hand. Be sure to discard any grain of rice that looks a bit off.

I like rice and gravy so I can't have too much rice in my gumbo for the most part. Rice is the best.

About 2/3rds cup to that amount for me. If I'm in a ricy mood, it might be 3/4ths, but I like the gumbo to be the star, especially the liquid part. I can eat it without rice and when I'm trying to be lower carb, I do.

Rice is only as good a what you're putting on it. Or in it.

None for this here feller.
I prefer good ole fashioned mashed taters or cheesy, buttery grits instead of rice.

Not much, would be fine with me if it were no rice, however my wife likes lots of rice with little liquid

Cheese in gumbo? You need to be posting in the weird food habits thread.

GUMBO FIGHT THREAD!
There should not be so much rice that it soaks up all the delicious gumbo and you end up with a watery rice and gravy. More gumbo than rice.
EDIT: See Gris' sig pic.

I knew it was going to happen this way.
Grits and gumbo? Interesting... I've never done anything other than rice or potato salad
