Recommendations on where to move. Not sure I trust the Sunday crew. Trying to stay in the 165-180k range. Public elementary schools are important. Any advice would and will be greatly appreciated.

Depends on where you work. If you work by Denham, I wouldn't recommend Prairieville, or vice versa.

Pville is best. Central Primary and middle are good schools. Spanish lake out in Geismar too.
and later on, Dutchtown and St Amant are great public hs.

I would vote Prarieville if those were the choices. However, take a look at the Diversion Canal area instead.

Shenandoah = St George = BR Schools = unimportant in the eyes of the city.

If you're considering Livingston Parish, then why not Central?

Oh, never mind - but you may as well x prairieville off the list if you're looking for one of those new DR Horton type hoods with no front yard or trees and all the houses look exactly the same. You'll pay a premium for one of those.

eta: if you work in south BTR then look at prairieville. If you work downtown or north Baton Rouge then look at Zachary or central. If you work on Choctaw or some place around there then central or denham.

Shenandoah is a top BR public school but do your research and you'll find it way behind the others. Prairieville or Oak Grove are both great elementary schools. Denham has some good ones too but I'd put them behind a little. We just went through the same situation ourselves and chose Oak Grove.
