Port Eads and N.O. Big Game Fishing Club memories

I remember spending quite a lot of time down in Port Eads a few decades ago. Loved it. Felt like you were on the edge of the world. Close to great fishing inshore and offshore -- once caught chicken dolphin off the jetty rocks there while fishing for white trout and reds. Used to love eating in the restaurant there next to the lighthouse when I was a teen. The old pictures on the wall. Man, we lost a lot with Katrina, the longer ago it was the more you realize what you lost. Had one of the best prime ribs I've ever had in that little dining room/cafeteria.
Anyone got any pictures of Port Eades?
Went to the NOBGFC website saw these old pics that prob were on the wall LINK

not that old just started going there as a kid. Loved it. Had a friend of family who had a house boat down there. Spent many a day down there. Did stupid stuff. Somehow didn't die. Caught more fish than I'll ever catch again. That area down there is one of the natural wonders of the world. Goin out late at night in a little flatboat to the jetties to catch hundreds of white trout after fishing all day offshore. Those were the days.

Only experience of mine was post Katrina going and checking out the remnants on our way in from offshore. I remember talk of then dredging it out/rebuilding guess it fizzled out
Looks like a hell of a time could be had there
Eta: needs a titty bar, you cod ship em out there

Favorite memory down there was shooting fireworks off the dock all night long one fourth of July weekend as a kid, and then fishing all day the next day

Dutch Prager is still kicking and fishing occasionally. Believe he lives in Mandeville.

Before my time. What year did it burn down?

Those probably weren't wild horses. My uncles used to keep their horses in south and southwest pass to catch their cattle.

I remember seeing my first BJ; 4 dudes were lined up for a mouth party before a tournament kick off. I was around 12? I just remembered being steered back to the boat and told not to tell my mother.
I'll always remember the b&w pic of that dude sitting in that Jewfish's mouth on the dock.
