What gets you through your day?

I started a new job about 6 months ago where i would be working in a cubicle and it has been 6 months of hell with bouts of cubicle anxiety. I worked for two years in a similar environment however the dividers were only about 3.5 ft high and I could talk to my buddy I worked with.

My office is all cubes, new age open floor plan to help "facilitate teamwork". No offices even for the big dogs. They pump in white noise but it still isn't enough to drown out the loud arse people that don't have cubicle voices. There is no privacy.

I'm pretty much devoid of all existence at this point. Looking at my paycheck gets me through my day.

Form strong relationships with your neighbors. Otherwise it's hell.

frick that shite. At least with full height cube walls you have some semblence of privacy. With those short walls you can't even scratch your nose.

Surviving cube life is like flying coach to Nigeria. You settle in to your small space, put your headphones on, and just get through it.

I listen to music from the moment I walk in to when I leave.

Bought me some beats (racist I know) and I can work in peace

Our cubicles are solid wall at the bottom with plexiglass on the top half. So no privacy whatsoever.

To get through the day, I use my unlimited 4g data to do Netflix, HBOGO, and Hulu plus. I also have the luxury to not be firewalled from this site and a few other decent ones.

You have to force yourself to get up often to walk around and see something different. A little exercise by doing so helps and take different routes through your building. Walk outside if you can. And, finally, a window seat certainly helps a ton!

The movie Office Space scared me away from office work. I just couldn't do it.
I went to my Mom's call center the other day (the complaint center for the USPS - you can imagine it's massive 1 of 3 in US)

Tons and tons of mini cubicles. Just no way I could.

I was to make a post about how I'm better than you because I have my own office, but then I remembered that my office doesn't have any goddamn windows.

So it might as well be a cubicle.

Poor Cubies. I had one for a month once when we were remodeling and it sucked. I like to close my door so nobody bothers me while I post on TD.

I was hoping to have an office when I graduated, but I'm sort of happy I ended up in the environment that I'm in. We don'really have cubicles, but I have a desk with a cubicle wall separating me from the desk next to me and open to the front of me so I can see everyone. I pop in headphones when I need to concentrate, but it's more of an open environment the rest of the time. I can talk to the people on the opposite side of the office from my desk. If I had an office, I'd be on here a lot more and would take several naps a day.

Recently ended an 18 month sentence in a cubicle. I used to make a notch in the wall every time I could feel a piece of my soul die. It was a good way to pass the time.

My biggest problem is that I have too much wall space and don't have enough art to put up. One wall is all window, but still looks kind of drab in here.

One wall of my cube is a window that overlooks Downtown Atlanta. Can't complain.
