I have fond memories, I loved their deserts.

Used to eat there a lot on gameday, when we played at night and it didn't take two hours to get parked on campus.

Ate there almost every Friday night for years. Dixie was our personal waitress.

Never got to eat there, and I regret that.

Deserts were in the glass display case by the hostess station. Great raw oysters, fried shrimp and old mom and pop style Italian. I enjoyed it from the early 60's until it closed. The building has been gone for years and it's just a concrete slab and quite an eyesore now.
Suburban Gardens in Alexandria was the old mans brother but I believe it has changed hands now.

My grandfather took me before every home game. Where I learned to love oysters.

My grandfather used to take us there, too. My mom and her sisters have fond memories of going over there a couple of times a week and getting fresh bread from their bakery. Good classic Italian food

You mean back when the police actually worked the side streets and got people out of the area?

My Italian grandmother loved to go and eat there back in th 80's. It was my first experience with true Italian sausage, and that took some getting used to, as I was used to Cajun/Southern style sausage my entire life.

What was in the oyster "Greg" sauce? It was a dipping sauce for oysters.
