Seemed like there used to be one on every corner... now they're becoming increasingly difficult to find. There's Oriental Pearl, and Hong Kong, neither of which I care for. Are there any decent ones left? I actually used to enjoy Great Wall, but now it's even been replaced.

Tepenyaki next to Lowe's on Siegen is not bad for a buffet, although it is Japanese. It's all the same to me.

I know Great Wall had a number of health code violations. Not sure if that had anything to do with its closing.

They've been out-marketed in their demos by Golden Corral and Applebees, Denny's, etc.

And post-internet, all the jokes/rumors about the "meat" used really gained steam.

Oriental Pearl (on Government) is no longer a buffet. The last time I went they had replaced the buffet with a "serving line" with about 6-7 choices. If I remember correctly the serving line (take out) cost the same as the buffet used to

Health Dept started to shut them down. One rep told me Great Wall was a cesspool.

No mention of Hunan? Although always better to order off the menu. Plus if you are a somewhat famous (ok barely known) you can get your picture taken with the Asian Kip Holden.

They killed off the regular customers that kept them open.
