Are curtains considered attached or fixtures?

Sold house and wondering what the protocol is for this. Mixed reviews searching online.
Most leaned to not a fixture/attached.

Take the curtains, leave the curtain rods. If you don't want the curtains or can't use them, just leave them. But you aren't obligated to.

I thought curtains went with the house unless stated otherwise in the contract. Might be a TX thing, though. I specifically excluded our bedroom curtains in our last sale be cause they were really expensive and matched our bedding. All other curtains went with the house just like the plantation shutters.

assuming la law, it's been almost 20 years since i've looked at it, but i believe if you can remove it without any damage to what it's attached to (obviously the case with the curtains themselves) then not a fixture.

Ask your broker. Fixtures are personal property that attach to the premises, ie the real property. Your broker should be knowledgeable of the practice in your area. Curtains don't sound like a fixture whereas the curtain rod or blinds may be. Either way, your broker should know how to handle.

Had a little curtain drama when we sold our first house as well. Wife really wanted them. Woke up the morning after we moved (moved after the closing) to both real estate agents freaking out bc "it's in the contract" had to give them back. Just had to they said. They threatened an attorney. As luck would have it my wife happens to be an attorney who only handles transactional law. You know, contracts? One letter later and the curtains were ours.
Tl;dr: no. They dont transfer with the sale no matter what the real estate agents say.

We have always specified what is to stay and go with regard to curtains to avoid issues, but if no specifications are made, they go since they are not attached to the house.
