Would this be enough to stem gun violence in the US?
If a handful of cities are removed from the US stats on violence (Chicago, DC, etc) , you will find that the US is on par or safer than the rest of the world...

This is true, it's not really effective to ban guns in one municipality if people can just go over to the neighboring municipality to acquire guns.
If YOUR misbehaving cretins can't be trusted with guns....that does not seem very compelling as a reason why MY well behaved cretins can't have them.
If your children are stupid enough to eat Oleanders and die...then YOU should not plant any. But, that doesn't compel me to stop growing mine..even if your dumb kids jump the fence into my yard.

If only we had more guns on the street. That would surely alleviate the problem.

I think the point is that restricting the constitutional rights of law abiding citizens does nothing to curb gun violence.

If only we had laws to prevent criminals from obtaining guns this would surely curb the issue.
On the same not. We should outlaw murder.

9 dead? It'll get worse over the summer.

8 of the 9 were in southside Chicago.
That place is a warzone

Are you suggesting that the gun control laws are actually working?

Actually a government study found exactly that...

Obama wanted a report on gun violence, and he got one, just not the one he may have been wanting.
A recent study supervised by the CDC and carried out by the Institute of Medicine and National Research Council found that individuals involved in violent crimes who defended themselves with a gun were far less likely to be injured than those who were not carrying a firearm.
The report ended up finding more benefits in regards to open or concealed firearm carrying than negative side effects. It is estimated that guns are used in defense up to 3 million times per year. Compare that with the number of violent crimes involving firearms in 2008–300,000.
quote:
The report further confirms that most gun deaths are at the hands of those who used the gun for suicide–not homicide. Suicide by guns outweighs the amount of deaths caused by violent crimes by 61%.

My question is if it isn't a hassle for them to drive outside of the city to get a gun then why is it a hassle to require an ID for them to vote

Don't ask too many questions at once. It may confuse them.

It is funny the REAL gun problem in this country are never discussed. It is always Sandy Hook. If liberals were fans of science and math they would know a certain demographic is the gun problem.
