Well what is it then? I've never been around one. Does it stink?
Yea. Alot of times they are flavored and smell like whatever flavor they are. I had a roommate who's GF smoked these in my house and I hated her for it. I found it disrespectful and the smell wasn't something I enjoyed.

Is 26 a magic age where nicotine is no longer addictive?
While her statement was pretty silly, I do wonder how it is younger people are still picking up the habit. It's gross, it's expensive and in the case of real cigs it will likely kill you.

I agree it's better than a normal cig but if people smoking them believe it's okay to smoke them inside like I had the problem with, then it's worse.

oh really?
Yes really. I don't need to have a cloud of pina colada or any other flavor in my face.

But it's not smoke or tobacco.

I doubt it. She seems like the type of PhD who makes everyone call her "doctor."

I'm sure it has some type of particulates in it. It's not just water vapor.

This. So many people hate freedom and many people loathe happiness in others. Some people love power and want to push their morality onto everyone. Put those together and you have the nanny state. It's the classic mentality of dealing with things you don't like. Some people, when they are offended by a television program, change the channel and some people demand that the program be taken off the air. Freedom haters will always be freedom haters.

Yup. She's already playing the "think of the children card."

I have never smoked a cigarette/ecig in my life and never will.. and this is pretty fricking stupid. Why do so many people hate freedom?

I wouldn't say likely kill you. It certainly increases your chances and if you stick with the habit for most of your life you're gonna have a decreased quality of life for sure.
I used to enjoy the occasional cig or 3 when I got drunk. I used to dip, a nice nicotine buzz is enjoyable. I can see why people would pick it up. I don't really see why some stick with it for so long other than lack of will power or care for their health, but w/e. Live your life man.
Unless you're on medicaid, then quit smoking and being a burden on the government paid healthcare I contribute to, you dick.

I think she should focus on just getting actual cigarettes banned.....I mean is that a foregone conclusion pretty much...I admit I'm out of the loop on that, but I bet there are still a shite ton of people that smoke at LSU...I know there were when I was there over 10 yrs ago.

I can never even tell people are smoking them.
Bet their all for legalizing pot though.

e cigs are a great way to smoke pot in the open.

Like it says in the article, there a big difference between the cheap blu ecigs from a gas station and the ones you get from the vapor shops. Sure they're both probably bad for you, but i'd rather smoke a nice expensive cigar then a cigarette.

I don't really see why some stick with it for so long
I smoked for about 10 years....I've been clean for about 6 now....not a day goes by that I don't think about smoking. I've heard other smokers say the same.....it isn't surprising that some people break.
Hell if situations were different I probably would have relapsed.

For particulates to be released into the vapor in the same manner as is found in smoke, I'm thinking some sort of ignition has to occur. For example the particulates found in engine exhaust is mostly soot left over from the combustion of the fuel in the cylinder. The same is true in cigarette smoke. The particulates in cigarette smoke are solids left over and released in the smoke after the tobacco is burned. Now I have not done any studying on these e-cig things, so can you tell me if there is some sort of ignition of a fuel source that is burned?
