Voter ID laws

I really can not wrap my head around the problem with voter ID laws. One person = One vote. And you cannot tell me that the vast vast majority of Americans do not have an ID. You have to have an ID to be on government assistance right? I am not trying to prevent anyone from voting.
I do believe that the founders thought they had set up the system to make sure you had skin in the game. It has, and rightly so, been expanded to include everyone (15th & 19th amendments) BUT the landowner part, which to me represents a taxpayer, should still be in effect.
If you do not pay federal taxes you should not be able to vote in a federal election. I do believe that because of state and local sales taxes those individuals should still have the right to vote in local and state elections. They are paying those. And because of this the individual states should have the right to require an ID for these elections.
I know it has been mentioned that you could make state benefits cards double as an ID (why there is no ID requirement for this is baffling to me as well), although the issue would be if you have a caretaker that is going to the store on your behalf.
Anyway.... i am rambling.

Too much common sense for libtards to wrap their demented minds around. And, besides, VOR tells us that voter fraud NEVER happens.

That is precisely the problem. If you are attempting to cheat to win elections, voter ID makes it very hard to do.
That is quite literally the only argument against these laws, unless it is a monetary issue of not being able to afford an ID card. To my knowledge, most states employing these laws have also made it free and near effortless to get an ID card.

There is one party in particular not interested in free and fair elections...

I'm on your side but what is your interpretation of federal taxes? Look at your phone bill. We're paying a fed tax to support the financing of availability to the internet.
So are people that pay phone bills considered federal tax payers in your opinion? Not trying to stir the shitpot but where is the line drawn?

The purpose of voter ID laws - ACCORDING TO REPUBLICANS - is to suppress the Democrat vote.
You won't read any of it, but I'll post it for fun:

This has all been posted before. Now you will cover your ears as hard as you can and continue to proclaim as loudly as possible you have no clue what the problem is. Voluntary ignorance is bliss.

There is no such thing as Federal elections, only State elections to fill constituently authorized positions.

I would amend that to say 'if you are on government assistance for your sustenance you should not be allowed to vote in a federal election.'
Oh - and since more whites than blacks are on government assistance, this can in no way be considered a racist view. I am simply against ANYONE who lives by government largess from being able to vote for more largess at the expense of everything else the nation has to worry about. Anyone, white, black, brown, yellow, red, green . .
