Does this thing really exist in South Louisiana? I think my buddy and I seen one around Lake Bouef while fishing. I Couldn't get my phone out fast enough. It wasn't a bobcat, casue this thing was a little bigger than my 100lb lab. We were about 25 yards away.

How long was the tail, what color? Did you go to the spot and get pics of the tracks?

i personally think they don not exist in Louisiana. as many gun packing rednecks in this state someone would have shot one and put on the web.

All Tiger Deacon needs to catch a Louisiana Panther is a fistful of catnip and a healthy breakfast.

Tail was about 2'. And was looking into the sun, so I couldn't see the color.

I will swear until I die I saw one in the Salvador WMA in 98. I could never prove it but it was there.

Yes, melanistic leopards and jaguars are rampant throughout the continental US. It's just the spotted ones that can't seem to thrive.

Boom! Someone finally knows! I tried to explain it on here once but I don't think anyone listened. They have a skin condition.

Guy at our camp said he used to see them dead all the time on the side of the road in Morgan City.
He also said his dad shot one one night out of a tree and it landed on his uncle

I saw one from my deer stand one evening and it crossed in a bend in the road where someone hunting the other side of the road saw it. I believe. We both saw it and were freaked out

But was it black?
The old man that practically raised me said he use to see a big cat about every 10-15 years.
