I'm partial to Chris Cooper in "Adaptation."

Portman in Black Swan
All performances in Caddyshack 2 aside, I think my all-time favorite is Newman in The Hustler. Great transformation of a character over time.

I'd go with Peter O'Toole as TE Lawrence. It's just a tragedy he and Peck had to compete against one another, which is also a Top 10 performance in my mind.

Robert Shaw - Jaws
The speech about the Indianapolis is probably the best bit of acting I have ever seen in a movie.
Quint - Jaws

Jim Carrey, in the Truman show. Or man on the moon.
That was a great performance and he deserved an Oscar nomination at least, and it's also one of my favorite movies, but I can think of at least 40 performances better than it on te top if my head. Carrey really did prove himself as a great actor in that film and simply not comic relief.
