What historical fiction or fantasy would you like to see made into a series next

With GoT having done it so well for fantasy, and things like the Tudors, Rome and Vikings, etc. having done well for historical fiction (though I'm not sure f any of those three started out as novels) , do you think there is anything out there that would have potential for a great series?
I'm thinking some of the Bernard Cornwell stuff might work well. O'Brien seems to have been successful via movie with Master and Commander, but maybe some of his other stuff would do well in a series.
The Arthur legends have been done a million times but a good gritty semi realistic version might get some traction.

Dragon Lance Chronicles
Good read for those of you that like GOT, although this would be considered much more along the lines of High Fantasy.

Shocking recommendation from the likes of you.
But, yes. I loved the dark elf stories with Drizzt. He is a badass.

There really is some epic stuff in D&D literature. Would make some great movies.

ONLY if someone truly committed like HBO or Showtime produced them. Those books would be insanely difficult to translate into film, and I don't want some busted attempt by some second-tier network.

The Mongoliad Cycle has been great so far. Once the next couple books come out in the Raven's Shadow Series, I would want to see that. Also Brent Weeks' stories lend themselves to television; both the Night Angel Trilogy and the Lightbringer Series would be great as adaptations.

Gates of Fire. More realistic/accurate than 300.. way more.

I'd like to see a miniseries of Gaiman's Neverwhere. They did a British one, but I think they could do it Justice with today's tech.

I'm still waiting on the damn Man in the High Castle miniseries that Ridley Scott has been attached to for years.

Wheel of Time as a HBO series would be legit IMO

Yeah. Anything with heavy sci-fi or heavy fantasy would have to have some serious $$ behind it I think. Even in GoT they have had to use the dragon CGI pretty judiciously.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, Neverwhere actually started as a TV show and then he wrote the book.

Eric Flint's "1632" alternate history book series would make a great tv series.
I'd also like to see a series based on the Spanish conquest of the Aztec/Inca/Mayan empires.

I checked Wikipedia on Neverwhere and it seems like you're right. It started on BBC but never got much traction there but the books took off.

The novel of Neverwhere is an adaptation of the screenplay. One of those rare occasions where the movie (tv show) came first.
Pumped about American Gods.
The Belgariad, Kingkiller Chronicles.

it wouldn't be feasible. There are just way too many intricate battle scenes with a ton of aes sedai doing all sorts of random shite that would require a lot of CGI. Maybe as a cartoon but a series would just be ridiculous in terms of cost.
