Never Tear Us Apart is one of the greatest pop songs ever made.
That is all.
That is all.

Agreed.

Not that they didn't have deep tracks, but It's great when a group can make pop-rock that's real quality music. The Cars, Fixx are others that come to mind in that category. Hutchence was a big loss to the genre.

"pop rock that's real quality music"
The 60s through the early half of the 70s was probably the greatest ever period of modern music overall, but the 80s was arguably the greatest decade for quality "pop rock" music. The variety of good pop music from the British New Wave, to synth pop, to goth, to pop rock, to metal was pretty amazing.

Shabooh Shabooh is a classic early 80's pop album. I never tire of listening to it.
Even less-popular, later stuff by them stands the test of time --

As good as the band is, there's no replacement for Hutchence.

In my personal top 10 artists of all time.
Michael Hutchence is one the most underrated frontmen in rock imo, and Kick was one of the best albums of the 80s.
The 1991 Wembley show is one of my favorite live shows ever.
What You Need (Live at Wembley)
Devil Inside (Live at Wembley) <---

saw the Listen Like Theives tour at Saenger theater. Had a buddy run up on stage, get tackled by security and was literally thrown out the side door.

Beautiful Girl
And yes, Never Tear Us Apart is phenomenal. One of the greatest ever. I saw My Morning Jacket at the Red Rocks 2 years ago for their epic 2 night show, and they covered this. frickin brilliant. I tried finding a vid of it, but it's not out there unfortunately.

If only we would hear this on radio with its preceding main song instead of Queen's We Will Rick You/We Are the Champions. Eagle 98.1 must have a mandate to play that twice a day. Satellite radio? Rarely hear Queen on Classic Rewind. Then again, not enough INXS on First Wave.

I'd be curious to compare music libraries with you. It seems our tastes run similar.
