Overrated story

Not really.

Coach K is a living legend - he knows it and so does everyone else. He gets his arse kissed 24/365 by the entire free world, so why would he be looking for more PR after a loss?

He didn't visit their locker room to make himself feel better or turn their celebration somber. He probably legitimately wanted to congratulate Mercer and give them swagg to progress even further.

There's no reason to be butthurt over this story.

To posters here, Coach K had an agenda by doing it

I don't think he has an agenda, I just wish instead of doing stuff like this, an embarrassing loss would light a fire under his arse.

Sorry I can't help but remember quotes after early Tournament exits like "It's not about winning, it's about building relationships." Or the time Duke got embarrassed by Clemson in the ACC Tournament and Coach K felt the need to go on the Clemson team bus and tell THEM how proud he was of them. That happened.

He failed to make high school level adjustments in today's game. He should be pissed. Instead he seems resigned.
Wow.

I'm as far as you can get from being a Duke fan. And I think that's a good thing listening to a fan like you.

Spoiled idiot bitch.

This is what I don't get. People either love or hate Duke and coach k. I don't think he is trying to win anyone over at this point in his coaching career.

you think he wants people talking about him bashing the A10 before losing to an A10 team or does he want people taking about him being humble and congratulating the team after a tough loss?

oooh you got me there, I'm hurt. Sorry I find losses like today's unacceptable. I can deal with a good loss. But this team never showed interest in playing defense from day 1. Coach K inexplicably acted like he had NEVER seen a zone defense before all season. I didn't complain last year when we lost to Louisville, because Duke was a well coached, tough team. But this season, and the way it ended, were not representative of Duke basketball. I don't understand how a team with so much talent can fail to cover a simple ball screen.

I have legitimate gripes. So eat shite pussy

Looks like he made sure the cameras were there to capture it all.

Yea it's sick. I could have left that statement out, I let my emotions get the best of me. What I was saying is he should be mad right now, and instead I feel like he isn't.

I dunno to be honest. After all he has accomplished, I'd walk in and say good game chumps and go have a drink.

The cameras are in all the locker rooms after the games

The cameras would be in the locker room with or without him, as they are in every locker room after a tournament game.

By shitting on one of the best coaches in CBB history. Of course. Why would I think otherwise.

He should be coaching his team after the game was over and not doing silly stuff like above the board sportsmanship. How dare he.

You should fire him.

okay, and what other coach goes into the opposing team's locker room and makes a spectacle just to say congrats?

Well, Bear Bryant did it on several occasions. But, of course, since he was associated with Alabama there's no possible way he did it with honorable intentions.m

His coaching was poor/disappointing this game, and at several points this season. Because he's an all-time great, I shouldn't be allowed to EVER be critical of him?

Nice try, but I was defending him in the "Is Coach K" overrated thread.

I know, it's confusing.

Why are you devoting your time to criticizing him for visiting an opposing locker room - after the game was over?

He's still an all time great and deserving of his accolades. This season was clearly not his best work. It's the day of the loss, of course I'm still pissed.

Maybe I gave the wrong impression. It was classy. He's not a sore loser. But he also gives me the impression that he is far too resigned to the way the season turned out. I get it though, there's not a lot he can do about it today.

I always knew Coach K was one of the best coaches, but I now know he is probably the nicest and classiest coaches ever. Coach K is the man.
