Should I even apply to jobs in Cleveland or Indianapolis? (Cities' Ratings?)

I am wondering if I would even want to accept the job if I got an offer due to having to live in these cities.
Yes, the job is definitely something I would enjoy doing and for which I am qualified.

Cleveland? Hell naw.
Indy- don't know too much about it.

I've been to Indianapolis a couple times.
Those places really make New Orleans look like a village. I was a bit surprised. 4 hours or something to Chicago.
Cold as hell though. I lived up north one year, and that was enough.

Dude, Cleveland isn't as terrible as some make it out to be. And Indianapolis is a really nice town.
If you have a great job opportunity, that's half the battle in making any city a decent home.

Colts or Browns?
I guess I am more of a Colts fan if that is what you're asking.

Yea, I am not a fan of the cold either. However, I guess I should add that the first 9 to 12 months are training. I would then get a promotion, and they would relocate me, possibly.
ETA: removed likely and added possibly

In that case, if its something you want to do, do it.
A year isn't shite in the grand scheme of things.
I was talking to some friends this past weekend I graduated from LSU with back in '07, and it was pretty wild to think about all the places some of us had lived in that period of time.

Fwiw OP I'm in the process of moving back to Cleveland. It's my wife's hometown and I recently came up on a pretty nice job opportunity. We left in 2008, but visit usually about once a year, and it seems to be thriving way better than when we left.
If you have a good job, love sports, and aren't a completely miserable frick that doesn't know how to socialize and meet people, any major city can be a fun place. And Cleveland is very close to a lot of interesting towns.
ETA: if you're just gonna be there a year for training, it could be a good experience.

I appreciate all the advice, guys.
I need a fricking job ASAP. I'm just going to apply.

A city is what you make it.
My first job was in Lawton, Oklahoma. HUGE bag of suck, until I got out and about, meeting folks and doing random local things.
Both the cities you listed are full of things that will captivate your interest and occupy your time.

I've never heard anything good about the city of Cleveland (my old roommate was from there). A friend of mine lived in Indianapolis for about 4 years and loved it.

I lived in Cleveland. It's got a lot of good parts/aspects.

I agree. Not sure why it got such a bad rap.

Indy is better. Cleveland isn't that bad.
If you work in downtown indy, a lot of the city is connected by tunnels so you can avoid the cold.

I would pass on both but it really depends on your interests and preferences

Avoiding Ohio when possible is good advice generally.
Of course, it isn't the worst place to be, but there is a reason it is bleeding people.

Well, it is commonly known as the "mistake on the lake"
