I used the term "car" loosely... perhaps "vehicle" would better describe her Xterra and my f150.

Pretty sure that is not a truck engine.. looks like a crane engine.

Should've spent the $$ and went with CAT Power.

I saw this yesterday and wondered what the story behind it was.

My good friend is a mechanic there and said it is an engine out of a KW heavy haul truck. Cummins is refusing to honor some warrany issues. I think it is pretty funny.

Which Nissan dealer?

I can't stand those commissioned based service shops in car dealers. They will rip you off.

Supreme Toyota in Hammond tried to screw me. I went in with a radio short and wanted to up grade to satellite but I wanted to know the cost of the radio first. I walked to the parts counter and ask and the guy said I had to go to the service guy. I told him I needed to know the cost to upgrade my radio. He started writing up a service ticket. I ask him why and he said they would have to take the radio out to get the model number--NO JOKE. Said he was going to charge me $45 to get the model number and quote me. I told him never mind. Got in my truck looked at the radio and the model is written on the front of it.

How many people have they screwed like that?

I won't even take my recalls into them. I have four that need done. I am not buying another Tundra if I have to deal with Supreme in Hammond. Like my truck but I can not trust their dealer.

Who is a trustworthy Toyota dealer? Is Northlake?

I concur- the last one of those we bought was in about 2002- 600 hp, was about $50k if I remember right. With the reman on those, whatcha think- maybe $30k now. We get QSM 11s for about 20 today.

The sad thing is that I promise the rep. was warned this would happen. probably thought, "Yeah right they'd never do something like that".

I was mostly referring to a man who doesn't work on his own vehicle.

I can change the oil, battery or brakes, but rack and pinion steering replacement is not something I have any experience with.

My sister took them to court several years ago over a car they sold her. She thought she was buying a dealer demo and turned out it was a rental car and the speedometer had been rolled back. Among some other issues the car had.

Kinda surprised the dealership would ever let it get to court. That's big-time fraud.
