I want to keep thinking its in some hangar somewhere in the middle east or on a remote island.
It seems alot of people want this.
Even though common sense always pointed to an ocean crash, people really want this to be something amazing and crazy.

What you know about the Bergen mall?
Of all the Jersey malls in Bergen County, it used to be the shittiest (basically abandoned). But they renovated it. I used to always pass it and never gave it much thought.
So I thought it funny to see it mentioned on here.

I'm late to the party (today). What are the current events? Austrailia thinks they found it? What are they saying?

I already posted my new theory that the on board computer became self aware.

I guess the people who are holding out hope that the plane is in a hangar somewhere also hope that the passengers died a horrible death at the hands of terrorists and look forward to the plane crashing into a building or city killing even more people.
I mean, your hope is that this plane will eventually take off again and kill more people in an incredible tragedy so that you have something juicy to watch on the news, right? God forbid the news be boring. It's blood and guts that you want! Be honest.

No one knows yet..

Yea. The lady friend is from a couple towns away from there. Not my kind of area in this country.

Australia found "something" on a satellite, but it could likely be something other that part of a plane. Planes and ships are covering the area but so far have not be able to find anything.

Didn't mean to try and be that guy. Even if found on the bottom of the ocean, there still will be an amazingly interesting story to be told.

George Carlin would have said Yes. He loved watching disasters on the news. (According to his stand up act)

this may be a stupid question, but what's the purpose of the black box anyway??
we have high speed internet access, can't all the telemetry, etc. from an airplane be stored in a cloud? the idea of a black box on the airplane containing all the relevant data seems..well...'quaint'.
it doesnt make sense to me this black box is the best way to keep all this data when you got a $30 million dollar airplane, how much could it cost to store the data remotely instead of buried in a box on an airplane that might be spiraling down in flames?

Long-range surveillance planes from Australia, the US and New Zealand have been scouring a vast tract of the southern Indian Ocean since Tuesday with the search focused on an area of 305,000 square kilometres (122,000 square miles), some 2,600 kilometres southeast of Perth.
yes, I realize the date is the 16th of march on the picture.

I wonder if the fear is that during a catastrophic failure, the info may not be able to be sent off the plane to "the cloud," and therefore you make sure you have a fully integrated record device on board that gets every detail possible.

can we start the investigation in the missing country first?

that great and all from a REDUNDANT standpoint..but what about the other 99.9% of the data?
no no, lets store all our eggs in one basket.

No problem, bros. I have the technology to crack this mystery wide open. Just give me a sec...
Ok, here's the image we're investigating. Let me enhance this...
Boom. Looking clearer. It's definitely some sort of man-made object. I think we're on the right track. Just need to enhance further...
Oh shite! It's a person! And they're on a raft! Maybe we can identify them!
Nope. Dang. It's just Tom Hanks.
Sorry, bros. I thought we had that one.

Correct. Would you also agree that some people in this thread got very excited at the possibility of the plane being in the middle east or somewhere in Muslim land with the idea of it being loaded with explosives or some shite?

Yeah, I agree. I know the area really well and it's not my cup of tea.
