Single picture of all satellites currently orbiting the earth

I always envisioned 10 to 15 orbiting earth not the amount in the picture. But pretty damned cool.

That reminds me of when Wall-E left earth on that spaceship and they shot through all the Buy-N-Large satellites.

lol the satellites size were scaled up so you can seen them.... they arent remotely close as that picture portrays. look sonle of them looks the size of the red sea .

Dumb question: How do they not bump into each other? Are they all orbiting at same speed?

Because they're relatively small and space is huge. However collisions are becoming more of a reality as more and more countries launch satellites. There are people whose sole job it is to track satellites and monitor for potential run ins.
