$650 a week? Does that seem a bit excessive to anyone else?

My speculation, unfounded in scientific evidence, is the boyfriend mentioned as a trouble maker in the article, is of some minority decent. While this May or may not be at issue to the parents.... The attorney/care-taker is probably some white knight for all non-whites in Merica. He probably thinks the young chap is getting a raw deal from the hateful waspy parents of the young lady. I could give two shits either way... But I do enjoy interwebs speculation and piihb.

If that is the arm of the boyfriend, he doesn't look like a minority. Either way I couldn't even imagine feeling like I had to cut my daughter off especially if she is still an honor student. That at least shows some sense of responsibility that we could build on.

While there is obviously more information needed to fully decide who's right or wrong(initial reaction is that the girl is spoiled and doesn't have a clue)....
Those pics from the courtroom make it look like the daughter is a spoiled rotten entitled bitch who thinks this is all fun and games
I guess we will find out soon enough

Seems someone should have had her arse beat as a child in lieu of timeouts and groundings.
Hope the judge puts her in a home and makes her pay court costs.

Surprised this is not in Florida

Well I just read a big chunk of that and I'll say ALL of them, including the Kitzmillers are fricked up. Wonder what the two younger sisters are thinking.

So how many kids sue the parents for support after this chick wins?

Rachel Canning, 18, of Morris Catholic High School, was denied her requests for child support of $654 a week as well as thousands of dollars in attorney fees and immediate reimbursement of her high school tuition.
Morris County Court Judge Peter Bogaard also ruled that Rachel’s parents must keep her on their health insurance policy and keep status quo on all college savings accounts set up for her.
Holla!! FTB!
OK, Germans as hell, but I don't care. I want to post it again.

Sorry if I left out anything but as you can see, darling Rachel has had quite a busy senior year. Quite the little busy bee she has been... an alcoholic, truant, scheming, demanding, lying and puking little bee.
My kind of woman.

After reading some of that, if I were her parent, I would donate all of her shite to something like Good Will.
I would then go to my lawyer and make sure that after I'm dead, my Will states that all of my belongings and assets will go to my other children. She wouldn't get a penny.

Not a motivation (I don't expect this sort of shite from my kids), but anything that might constitute a "college" account for my kids is in my name only, in regular investment vehicles (I don't trust Congress not to change the rules...especially with this current bunch). I suspect that if this judge ultimately awards the $$$ to the little spoiled bitch, you'll see other parents do the same thing.

cases like these really make you wonder what these parents messed up with when raising her. This type of attitude isn't the norm.

i have a "somewhat" similar story to hers, just a year later.
parents didn't pay for any school at all. I did get to live at home for my first semester of college. After one semester they said i was gone too much, and didn't check in enough. Either pay rent, or move out. No argument or anything, just didn't want to mess with me any more. i moved out. ate nothing for 2 years and worked 40+ hours a week. graduated dirt poor, but with no student loans.
So... all that to say, I can retroactively sue them right?
