He started because Les is a retard. Lee won 7 games for us and throws 1 pick in the bama game and never sees the field again. He has no pocket awareness and you need to be a student of the game to be worth an nfl team to spend money on you. He wasn't an elite athlete. That's why he's not a back up.

Should have tried to be a TE after the NCG. I think his 4 was like 4.55 at 6'5 220. Add on 20lbs and he could already hit (saw him lay a few mean blocks). Could have possibly stayed on in a smaller league (CFB, Arena, etc) before trying the NFL, or retrying it.
