1. Because I hate ManU
2. I started watching them because they were ManU rivals and grew to love the bastards

I'm not really a fan of any particular club, although I definitely like some more than others (and dislike some). The only team I truly follow is the USMNT.

My best friend growing up and his family moved to AZ from Brighton, England in 2nd grade. When I started really following club soccer, I noticed Brighton were in the lower levels but I've been able to follow them much closer in the Championship.
I'm ready for promotion to the Premier League so I can watch every game!

Mostly Bastian Schweinsteiger and my grandmother's friends introducing me to the German national team -- a lot of them played for Bayern.
I also have a sweet spot for Mainz, just ask Tweezy, because my dad was born like 15 minutes from there... plus Thomas Tuchel is a badass mofo.
and if SV Wehen Wiesbaden ever makes it to the Bundesliga, it's on like a motherfricker. -- only 3 points away from a playoff spot to get into 2. Bundesliga!

I guess with me and Arsenal I wanted to support a big club but didn't want to support a club that just bought all their talent. I didn't have an MLS club for a while but I was really attracted to Portland after seeing their first game on tv and seeing how great the crowd was.

Always liked United because there were only a few teams I had access to watching on a consistent basis in the early 90s. Then I watched the 1996 FA Cup Final against Liverpool. That sealed the deal for me - been a United fan ever since.

My kid plays club, and his homework was to follow a team. Dortmund was who we picked.

when I started playing soccer in high school, I'd always watch matches on Fox Sports World. My coach would tell me to find a player, observe what he does, and basically try to mimic him. For me, that player was Fabien Barthez. Loved his eccentric style of play...him and Ruud van Nistelrooy were so much fun to watch, so being a Man Utd fan stuck with me
