Student newspaper saying GOAT
=/=
ESPN analysts all agreeing probably in the 5-10 range
you should like read the things you link to.
I wonder how long it will take for me to use Cal State Northridge's student newspaper to justify a point on the rant.
I think I'll just kill myself instead.

So why does Peyton Manning face undue criticism and inquiry over his post season record?

Pretty sure he has been getting ripped for his playoff performances for nigh on a decade now.
And it is all deserved.
There may be no bigger discrepancy between a professional player's regular season performances and his playoff performances than Peyton Manning.

You've hot to be kidding. In his second to last season, he had one of his best years ever. He took the Vikings to the NFC Championship and likely would have won the SB if not for Bountygate. He maybe played one year too many, but how do you retire when you're coming off one of your best seasons ever?

L.O. frickING. L!!
People truly believe this don't they? That the Saints won football games due to alleged bounties?
Man, I <3 the Internet.

When you're in an argument for the GOAT, everything comes under scrutiny.

Farce is not the GOAT but top 5 maybe.
Is Super Bowl wins the ultimate measuring stick. If so then the GOAT would be
Since I was born in the 70's
Montana-4
Bradshaw-4
Airman-3
Brady-3
Eli-2
Elway-1
Differ-1
Hostetler-1
Simms-1
Williams-1
Young-1
Flacco-1
Fabre-1
Brees-1
Marino-0
Kelly-0

You did watch the game didn't you? It was obvious the Saints had a bounty on Favre. He injured his ankle on an illegal hit that wasn't called. The NFL later said that it should have been a penalty. Without that dirty hit, Favre easily runs for a first down on the Vikes last drive and we kick a FG for the win.
If Boutygate didn't affect the outcome of games, the NFL wouldn't have hit the Saints with such severe penalties.

Or his mediocre last few seasons in the league (except one good season in between)? The last time I checked he had only one Super Bowl win and one less trip than Manning to the big game. Also Favre was known for throwing the ball to the wrong team in big games.
So why does Peyton Manning face undue criticism and inquiry over his post season record? Why is Peyton held to a higher standard than all other quarterbacks?
Who in the world has Brett Farve over P. Manning in terms of all time great QBs?

I may be giving Manning shite for his playoff cliff, but overall, you still have to say he had a better career than Favre.
But, Favre was exciting and in his prime, he was a helluva QB. Also, I think it is very fair to say he played on several teams that were nowhere near as good as Manning's. I mean hell, throwing to Harrison and Wayne for as long as he did breeds a lot of consistency.
I still place Manning top 5-8. But, I can't ignore the apparent body snatching that takes place once his teams enter the post season.

Favre is hampered by the fact poeple forget how hurt he got in the 2009 season's NFC title game. His ankle was basically destroyed and he wasn't ready to come back. Guy was a great QB and a great competitor. Peyton is great too, but the blinding support for him as GOAT is maddening.
1 super bowl win despite all his regular season records. Everyone wants to blame his teammates or defense, yet a realistic look back at those games show he choked more than anyone in his playoff games.
