Moving to Ascension for my son to start school. I'd like to be close to interstate and closer to Baton Rouge than Gonzales. 2500 SF -3000 SF home in the $300k range +\-.
Recommend a neighborhood we should check out. What's traffic like getting to interstate each morning?

Look in the Manchac area, near alligator bayou. That's where I grew up.

Where are you commuting to? It's murder getting to I-10 often, but there are other routes that can be taken. Also, P-ville sucks, STA all the way.

Manchac Crossing. You really can't get any closer to BR than MC. There are nicer neighborhoods, but they cost a bit more than $300k.

Perfect representation of 1/4 of the population of St. Amant. They guy who thinks the Tiki Hut and Chef KD's are the best AP has to offer.

42 is about to start construction, gonna be a mad house for traffic

Check out Maplewood, off 73 just pass bayou manchac, no flood zone and one of the few neighborhoods that you can buy the lot and then choose your own builder or build yourself, great school district
stay away from anything along 42, they are finally beginning the widening of it and it will be a major clusterphuck for the next 5 years

All the manchacs and all the neighborhoods off of swamp road are pretty good. I would be careful buying around 42 because of traffic.

we are about to build in Fountain HIll…
great location… 5 minutes from all the convience of Prairieville, and 10 minutes to the interstate off Perkins…
i won't have to get on the interstate at all when we move, since i work on Highland...
