Anyone know anything about ridgewood? Looking at a house in there

Yes. It's fine. My gf just helped a friend get a house in there. Ridgewood and Beau Jon are both fine.

E Ridgewood off Henry is fine as well.

Avoid Lakes at Oak Grove - piss poor build quality, and they all look like duplexes.

If you want to live in AP it's very cheap. Buy the older houses. Bottom line. There are a ton of areas for 140k- for 3-4br but you need to look around and carefully check out the neighborhood.

Perkin's Oak neighborhood for around $180,000 - quiet, friendly neighborhood, and you can walk to Half Shell or Tommy's Fish House for a beer - just stay off the first street, Perkins Oak Road. That street is "unique"

My folks just downsized and built in Parker Place. A little cookie cutter but right near school and very affordable

Something with near-zero lot lines, zero character and lots of stucco. Might be hard to find out there.

Shadows of Ascension is really good. My wife is a realtor. She sells mainly in AP. Let me know if you need help.

I'm in Manchac Harbor off hwy.42 and love it.

Takes me 10 mins max to get to airline in the morning around 6:30.

7 oaks is nice, but outdated. Lake at twin oaks and oak alley estates off 74 are very desirable

Go down Old Jefferson, over Bayou Manchac bridge, make your first right on Oakland Dr. Keep going down, and there is an area (not really a specific neighborhood bc there aren't any signs/street lights/sidewalks) and there are homes that sit on at least an acre and aren't same-same look alike burb homes.

But, that being said, F that traffic to get out of/to there. No damn way.
